lets see your lowest kustoms or rods on the hamb...heres mine i know its not the lowest but it suits me
It'll be tied between the 1,000+ dudes w/bags who lay frame! how bout' the lowest with out bags and @ ride height... p.s. that cads cool, bagged tho, Right?
there are tons of guys with bags or juice who can lay frame, so i think this goes for static drop cars. i have about 7/8 inch clearance
I'm trying to get as low as I can with my ride(53 Stude). I live in the north east so the roads suck. I went for 5 1/4 at the rocker near the A pillar. With the car chopped and channeled it sits 48" to the highest point of the roof. I still have a ton of work to do. Going to a friends body shop today to do some work on the quartesr and shear some pieces for my firewall.
it may not be the lowest, but is down there and gets its regular dragging of payment. if there is a crown in the street, there is a good chance I will tap it. no bags in the front, the rears are just for adding height then I get some of my big friends or hauling parts.. it now the 2" of rear travel would disappear and it would not get into many driveways...
I had 3/4" till I put my new bump stops in last week(see my bumpstop post and the oil change/wore a hole in my skid plate post). The bump stops gained me 1 1/4"
heres a couple ones voodoo's from another thread and the binder is from a guy on here too..both loowwww!!!
layed rear cross member before i wore it out dragging it all summer. i can ride with it about 1/2" off the road. Michigan roads suck so a static job here still has to have at least 4" clearance. Mines bagged rear only with about 2" of cross member clearence in the front.
mine definately aint the lowest, but riding 2" off the ground under the lakers is low enough for me, especially on these jersey streets......no bags, and don't want 'em
Thanks Dave Yeah...it still is actually, Oddly enough its in Santa Cruz (sold it when I lived in Reno) its now a suede metallic red and he finished the interior, and got the missing grille teef..... That car and Mike's ol merc that I had are 2 rides I wish I had never sold, but they were sold only due to my ex wife.
It was a bad ass ride....I miss the hell out of it. I cant take credit for it tho.....top was cut by Cole. The frame was notched ridiculously .....but damn when the bags were empty, she was layin frame. Even had skid plates on the bottom and the motor mounts were setup so it brought the pan up to safe distance, above frame. powerplant was a full roller 400 (yeah it was fast too) fastest sled I ever drove.
i am beginning to believe that there is such a thing as pointlessly low...i guess about the time you can no longer drive your car anywhere.
