Hello all, i am in the process of doing interior in my 51 DeLuxe and im going to attempt to rebuild the steering wheel using some methods i have found on here. My question is on the wheel itself. Doing some image searches i find a lot of the 1951 DeSoto wheels are a three arm or however you want to call it. This is the wheel i have right now. This is what came on the car. I have seen a lot of horn rings for 51 plymouth that look like they will fit but im wondering if the horn rings and horn ****ons are somewhat interchangeable or if this is indeed a plymouth wheel that was put on this car? Thanks for any help and please forgive my ignorance.
That steering wheel is original to the car, it's for the cheaper models. The "Custom" cars got the 3 spoke wheels and was an option on the "DeLuxe" but not standard. Here's a ****ty pic of what your wheel is supposed to have, pic is a '51 DeSoto DeLuxe, same as yours, same wheel.
Thanks for the pic. It seems like it uses the same style ring as a few other mopar models ive seen for sale. Ill have to see if i can get them to send me some measurements on the bolt pattern. Thanks again.
