Technical no fliud in trans

    almost started up my project with no fluid in my m5r2 trans , not planning on going anyplace just first start up will it hurt it ?

    Probably....put some oil in it.

    yeah didnt think it would be a good idea to fire it up without any fluid in it they suggested mercon surprised me never saw a manual that used auto fluid in it !

    That has been common since the World Cl*** T5's came into existence, in the early 80's.

    I think you shud put sum fliud inn before you start it upp.

    I am not trying to sound like a smart ***, but... Any transmission, regardless of type, year, model, time or place is going to have something moving or rotating, if the engine is running, cranking or otherwise.. It doesn't care whether you are driving it, or pushing it, if parts are moving, it is always a solid idea to have lubrication for it.. Fixed many of standard transmissions for folks that wanted to listen to their '*****in' motor, that forgot that the input shaft spins just as many times as the crankshaft, unless the clutch is pushed in..
