This has got to be one of the rarest items I've come across in over 20+ years of collecting 1949-51 Lincoln Mercury accessory items. Never thought I'd let this one go, but the 1951 Mercury convertible project I was saving it for was recently sold. Here's a genuine Lincoln Mercury 0L-18259 accessory exhaust deflector for the 1951 Lincoln, Lincoln Cosmopolitan and Mercury. The November 1950 edition of the 1949-51 Mercury Ch***is Parts catalogue lists the application as 1949-51 Mercury. However, there is an earlier style 8M-18259 deflector for 1949-50 that was superseded by this one. The 0L-18259 deflector made its first appearance in the 1951 Lincoln and Mercury accessory booklets. It uses a 1950 Lincoln part number, so it's most likely correct for a later production 1950 Lincoln or Mercury, as well as 100% correct all 1951 models. This example has excellent original chrome, with some very minor shelf wear. Note that it also has the adapter collar that is necessary for it to fit a Mercury tailpipe. If you are using this on a Lincoln, it's not necessary, as the Lincoln has a larger diameter tailpipe.
