The 40 coupe was built by my older brother and ran a 331 Firepower with cad top shifter/the 55 was a typical 10 year old cherry California chevy in those interesting colors....

Gassing up after leaving Good Guys Scottsdale this afternoon.

 

The coupe is in the process of getting a third pedal.

 

My sedan waiting for its new engine. The old engine developed a knock and the block was found to be cracked when it was torn down. Luckily, the first of my cores had a good block.

 

Beautiful standard at Good Guys Scottsdale.

 

Got the coupe all back together, the exhaust rerouted around the clutch linkage, and have logged about 100 miles or so in it with it's new to it 3 speed transmission. Going from a 350 turbo to a Saginaw 3 line changed my 1st gear ratio from a 2.52 to a 3.5. Talk about changing a car's personality! MAN, it's so much more fun to drive now!!!

Out trying to find another couple of strands of matching Christmas lights.

 

Time to tuck her in for a long winter nap,bummer.

On the other hand, my coupe took me to work and back two days this week. that made me happy

 

Glad to be able to drive my 40 all year. Maybe not so much in Jan/Feb, but still some days.

 

Me too. So far so good here in Maryland.....but it's coming, I just know it. I can feel it in my bones!
Drove mine to work again last Saturday.

^^^^I can't say that I'm a big fan of sectioned '40's but, that car brings it off very nicely^^^^ Did Starbird Kustoms have a hand in that car?

 

My '40 Coupe has been spending the weekend at the Hot Rod Holiday car show, in Springfield, MO.

The old stake truck made it down to the Hot Rod Holiday car show, but only as my transportation, on Saturday. @Long Roof Larry encourages parking of hot rods, including my "not rod" out on the sidewalk in front of the Expo center. My apologies to the Expo center, for the truck marking it's territory there.

I know, it's a 39 ..... so sue me!

 

I prefer the '39 deluxe. No vent windows, those cool headlights ...
