Seems like it was only a couple years ago this thread was started but its already approaching 10, Wow!
Time does fly by quicker the older you get, I believe it from first hand experience for sure these days.o_O
Ive also learned that tri fives are easier to sell than they are to get back, Its been 3 years since Ive owned one now:( Still looking for the rite 55, gonna try to make it happen this year tho as a few things may finally align for me, we will see how it goes:)

Look at the trim on headlight, not tri-five Chevy. I see the emblem and 'bird' on the hood. More than likely a mild custom

wheeldog57 the headlight EYE trim is factory --->55NOMAD
i was referring to the top of the fender arrow/bird small and long...
i captured the picture of off a 1956 tv show...
that piece was not common for the 55 nomad
    but is/was for 56's

The headlight eyebrow trim is something I haven't seen before but I researched it a bit. In that photo it looked to me that someone put Pontiac or Buick headlights and added the 'birds' to the fender tops

Not a car but a very interesting piece of Tri-Five Chevy history.
On a recent visit to see my Son and his Family in Michigan we stopped by to see a toy collector we met last year. Julian Thomas began collecting and starting his toy business in 1964. He is now in his 80's and had spent 30 years with GM as a model maker. Like our last visit he gave us another tour of his toy shop, found me some of the parts I needed and talked more history about his days at GM.
He showed us this special wooden box he had in his collection. The cover had small wooden locking pegs to hold it in place. Inside was a hand crafted extremely detailed piece of GM history made back in 1955 out of beautiful cherry wood. The piece was a prototype mold of the instrument cluster part of the 1957 Chevrolet dash that was used for manufacturing approval. There was also a letter in the box from the original GM builder do***enting the history of the piece.
