Fired up the Hemi in the Coupe today!!! (edit) NOW With Video!!

Well...I fired it up in the ch***is anyway...the body was off the frame today.

It sounds ****in' *****in!!!

Thanks to the Dirtys for coming over and lending a hand. I didn't get any pictures, but Dirty2 got some video...maybe he'll get Rusty to post it up.

The thing was t******* so hard that it was rattling **** off of the shelves and walls. Had some minor trouble figuring out the wiring for the electronic distributor, but other than that it went really smoothly. After we got it wired right, it popped right off...no belching, backfires, or anything. All four Strombergs are working great...no leaks, no fouled plugs, no lean pops. I am amazed at how well it worked right off the bat....all I had to do was set the idle!

I'm stoked!! You guys that are going to the Roundup are going to hear it coming....it's really freaking loud. Sounds like a fuel dragster.

Gotta get back to work....

I tell you what. I headed out in My roadster for its maiden voyage and damn did I not know what I was getting into. I originally was going to cruise out to B***' Shop on Saturday but I had some fuel tank problems Friday night and did not get them worked out till Sunday morning. I knew Brian had went and got some race gas Friday so I thought for sure Saturday he fired it up and We missed all the action. BOy was I wrong. The Dirty's got to help temporarily wire it up and see the whole initial start up. Besides going to a tiddy bar I dont believe I have ever seen a instant hard on from so many guys in the same room at the same exact time. The whole hype of the HEmi, the events leading up to the initial spark, the late nights I know B*** has had, The money, everything, was gone and instant pleasure was had by all. Everything went off pretty well and very nice for being all fresh and rebuilt. When B*** said it fired rite up and ran great he was rite. I have never seen in my time of Hot Rod building a new piece of machinery with multiple carbs sound so good. Anyhow I cant say enough about the Hemi. Heres the footage.

P.S. B*** Glad the Dirty's could help. It is freaking awesome!!!!

Congratulations! I looked at Dirty2's pictures and videos and all I can say is UNREAL! I've been watching your build on the HAMB and you and your coupe have truly been an inspiration to me and I suspect quite a few others.

In fact, I was leaning toward a street rod approach to my old truck but your project has helped me see the light and now I'm looking at a more traditonal approach. By the way you wouldn't know where an extra 331, 354, or 392 hemi might be laying around would you?

I made some more good progress last night...I got the cowl most of the way done and ready to bolt to the frame, and made a generator bracket a**** other little things. I hope I can take it around the block by tomorrow?
