Has anyone converted an oil bath air cleaner to a modern filter type for a 56 Ford with a 4 bbl?
    Thanks
    Jim

    Hi Don & Thanks
Do you have any more info as to how you accomplished this?
    Thanks again

I bought a generic air cleaner for a 4 barrel at a swap meet and cut the bottom out of it (the part that mounts to the carb).

I then gutted the oil bath to where it was just a shell and also gutted the lid to where it was just a frisbee. Then I riveted the 4 barrel bottom to the bottom of the oil bath shell and sealed it with RTV.

I ordered a K&N filter that fits inside the housing and is secured by the lid.

I can take some photos of it if you'd like. I've put over 5,000 miles on this setup and it works great while still keeping that cool oil-bath gumball look.
