I am looking for advice on what axle setup to get for my boys 65 falcon ranchero. He wants to build it to the southeast G***ers rules.race a few times a year, and drive it on the street. Any help is appreciated thanks. He has picked up a 302. And a top loader. He still needs alot, but he is gaining
I would go Model A, transverse leaf , and a set of split bones. Never thought manufactured tube axles looked correct.
Take a look at WAC Customs. Builds chromemoly tube axles right here in the USA, so no mystery metal or Chineseium. I have not used one but I believe several here have. Their work looks top shelf and above all, safe. My 2 cents. Kevin
This^^^^^^ If this car will be doing wheelstands on a regular basis, this should be your axle of choice.
Look in the Tech section at the 'Shakey Pudding build". Most important are safety and performance (how it drives).
Hey Riser We had custom tube axles made like mine that was built by Rip Ericson sprint car builder & racer out here in so-cal, NO WAY would I put a ' O to Thin ' T axle under my 37' and it kept all 4 on the ground DND
There are several good axle choices out there. The speedway axle kits are easily obtainable and most people have had good luck with them, the econoline axles look good under the cars as well, 32 ford beam axles look good, Quain has been having a guy make some for his recent builds if you're interested in that as well (they are reasonably priced). Any thing else he needs let me know and ill do my best to help!
BCCHOPIT here on the Hamb is WAC customs here on the Hamb. I would contact him and he can probably set you up completely...
Subscribed!!! We are slowing trying to make our 64 into a g***er as well! Good luck. And I remember your car and your family helping you at the meltdown this year! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I don't know a whole lot about anything, but it seems to me back in the day a couple local guys used early '60s Ford Econoline axles with longitudunal springs.
You need to keep the ranchero stock another year. My daughter will be 16 next year, we are working on her 66 dart with the slant 6
I'll let you take that up with the boy. Lol. We won't have a straight axel this year no way. I just put a all brand new front end under it when we first got it. Let's go with stockish..... yeah that's the ticket. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks for the support guys!!!!! Both USA made DOM and Moly tube available or I can cut down a truck or van axle If needed Here is a link to my WAC page on FB Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile apphttps://m.facebook.com/WAC-Customs-602766899798304/
