I would go Model A, transverse leaf , and a set of split bones. Never thought manufactured tube axles looked correct.

Take a look at WAC Customs. Builds chromemoly tube axles right here in the USA, so no mystery metal or Chineseium. I have not used one but I believe several here have. Their work looks top shelf and above all, safe. My 2 cents.

If this car will be doing wheelstands on a regular basis, this should be your axle of choice.

Look in the Tech section at the 'Shakey Pudding build". Most important are safety and performance (how it drives).

There are several good axle choices out there. The speedway axle kits are easily obtainable and most people have had good luck with them, the econoline axles look good under the cars as well, 32 ford beam axles look good, Quain has been having a guy make some for his recent builds if you're interested in that as well (they are reasonably priced). Any thing else he needs let me know and ill do my best to help!

  11. I don't know a whole lot about anything, but it seems to me
back in the day a couple local guys used early '60s Ford
    Econoline axles with longitudunal springs.

I would run 40 ford spindles as the brake options are best and reasonable

I'll let you take that up with the boy. Lol. We won't have a straight axel this year no way. I just put a all brand new front end under it when we first got it.
Let's go with stockish..... yeah that's the ticket.
