Started out, i drove out to "Mighty Mouses" house, and retrieved the transmission that was soon to picked up by "Dirt" and his bro. from Anahiem Hills way. I also was thrown a few more speed goody's on the way out the door. so i gladly excepted the loot and sped home.
As soon as i pulled into my driveway Dirt was calling me on my cell and was just a few blocks away now.
They pulled up, we chewed the fat for a while
Loaded the trans from the back of my Corrola/pickup truck and away they went. Cool guys Too. I havn't met a H.A.M.B.er yet that i didnt like.:D
So now i must prepare for the visit of
Doc Franknstien to pick up an engine im donating to the dragster project for Antique Nationals/Rat Fink coming up soon, and take the front end for my 53 back out to his place.
He showed up around 5:00 and we rolled the
engine up into the back of the small trailer he brought with a come along. Bad move. Once we got it aboard, it was staying pan side up, which meant any contents left in the gut of the motor was gonna not defy gravity and spill all over the driveway! (Special note), didnt realize it was still pretty much full!
So i quickly grabbed a nail bucket and stuck it
under the biggest offending leak, but it didnt take long to
    fill it and spilled over.
The only thing i could do at that point
was grab soil from the flower planters and biuld a
make-shift damn before it made its way to the gutter!!!
(I do have Haz_mat training and can confine a spill)
So they left after (ya know the usuall "cutting up" after a stupid move) , and i cleaned up the spill. (Haz-mat training style).
To get the engine out of the garage
I tied a rope through the flex plate and attached it to the lower frame of my dailey driver Toyota. I then pulled it out of my garage .
All this( and 3 s****ers of Bud) has led up to my Question, which is....... has anyone used their daily driver as a tow tug to get things around the yard or garage? I got a couple good stories but iv been on too long now, so give up your best horror tow story!

used my buick to pull my truck out of the side yard and turn it around and push it back in. i also had to use a come along anchored to a large rock in the yard, a torch, and a bfh to get a wheel off my friends truck... that was pretty hokey

Ya, thats a pretty good one, oldschool55.;)

The way my Toy-hota became a push/pull vehical in the
first place is that i was pushing it up my inclined driveway from the street, (very carefully), with a tire between, and when i got it far enough to atach the come-along i moved the car back about 3' (bad idea), and started pulling it in.

Well when i had it about halfway in, the bolt decided to slip through the chain and it "bumped" into the front of the car from 6', and then as luck would have it, the front end without inner-fenderwells acted like a spring, and bowed just enough to slow it down before all the g's could activate the air-bag. That at the very least would probably have ended my hobby!!!
All i ended up explaining away was the two nice big scuff
marks that the ......... "parking lot bumper" , had jumpped up
    and made.
