We use a wide white wall tire & a moon disc with a nice big red bow hanging on a tree beside the house and have used it for several years.

Do any of you guys use any car or truck parts in your holiday decorations ? HRP

How about the use of an entire car? This guy asked to borrow my Roadster on Christmas Eve to expedite deliveries. I told him only if he leaves a Model A Coupe under my tree!:D 20161209_201138.jpg 044-vi.jpg

  14. Funny you asked HRP, I am planning to throw this old junk together on my front lawn, as a full sized, mocked up car/rod, and lighting it up as a Christmas decoration.
I've got a spare T Bucket ch***is, and am thinking, 37 Chev truck front and rear axles, 28 Cadillac body, and one hot rod headlight and alloy stand.
All I need, is one six stud wheel to fit Chev pattern, and a junk V8.
I've got a spare battery, just need to buy the lights.
If I get it done in time, I post pics here.

That's a fantastic idea. I hope you don't mind but I think I'll copy it. Earlier this year I picked up a set of wide whitewall tires mounted on wide 5 wheels complete with hubcaps. I think I'll stop and pick up a big read bow tomorrow and hang one in the tree out front.

    Thanks for the idea
    Bobby

  19. I've made a start on mine. Had a few pare hours this afternoon.
    Sorry, there's no snow. IMG_20161212_162542.jpg

  20. I'm thinking, paint red, and get a life sized Santa sitting in it.
Maybe glue a heap of white bean bag balls over it for the snow.
Hope it's not to painfull watching it come together, it's kinda ratty. :D IMG_20161212_214915.jpg

The tire in the tree is a red neck thing, people with proper upbringing don't normally dream up stuff this crazy. :D HRP

  24. I dreamed up this crazy mess all on my own, lol.
It's slowly taking shape. I had a helper come today, but she turned out to be no help, but I did get some red rattle can paint on.
I've also gathered up some red clothes for a Santa, and a buddy may drop in a grill over next few days if I'm lucky.
I'm running outer time, so rather than source an old junk V8, I may just pull the old Holden six from under the bench. IMG_20161213_114054.jpg

  25. I picked this 34 Dodge Ram up at a swap meet. It was broken from its base and came in two pieces. So I use the ram as a tree ornament. It's a car part so It fits 041.jpg here too.
