We purchased the above club jacket that appears to be an original from the 1950's or so, and it has the name "Gary" on the front. We have found very little info on the club online other than another image of a club plate, and an obituary for a gentleman who is said to have been the president of the club, included below. Does anyone have any specific knowledge of the club or know of any surviving members? We will follow up on some of the clues and names listed in the obituary but was hoping someone here will remember this crew. Here's the obituary: "Philip Neal Sheridan, 77, died of natural causes at his residence in Klamath Falls, Ore., Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. He was born March 26, 1936, in Minneapolis, Kan., to Earl S. and Margaret Hawkins Sheridan. He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Dave and Mike Sheridan and Jim Griggs; daughter, Belinda Weaver; two grandchildren and brother, Jim. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob. Phil graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1954. As a young man, he was a lab-tech in the fiberboard plant at Weyerhaeuser Timber Co. Phil and Karen moved to the South, where he managed fiber plants in Texas and Tennessee. They returned to Klamath Falls in 1977, and he purchased the Goen Insurance Agency, later merging with Great Basin Insurance. He served as president of the Satan Chauffeur's Car Club. He was considered a collector and car historian, along with his good friends Terry Sherrill and Chuck Swafford."
You can probably contact the ''Cruisin' Rebels Cl***ic Car Club" of Klamath Falls" for information...at 5329 Eastwood, K. Falls, Ore.....ph# 541-884-8026.....(and they have an online homepage) "The Cruisin Rebels" advertise they were formed from ''the original 9'' members, which suggests an earlier club...and they are known for charity work in the community. ....I found that Satan's Chauffer's sponsored a dance in August of 1960 in the local newspaper. I worked in K. Falls for a chip-truck outfit for several years, and my dad and grandfather both worked at Weyerhauser in K. Falls at the time of the owner of the jacket! I'm pretty sure the current car club would have information on the jacket, and who to contact within the K. Falls area.....stuff isn't posted online about the Satan's Chauffeurs other than a mention here and there.....good luck

I just checked the obits for Klamath Falls...."Terry Sherrill" p***ed on last year ( June 2, 2015 )....there are a number of drag racing articles online about him...his p***ion for drag racing all his life...incredible racer and life following his p***ion
I should have remembered that. I met Terry at the drags in Seattle in the late 70's, his '57 Vette, that he crashed, is being rebuilt. Nice guy !

Thanks guys, this is all really great info. Yes we will be working to follow up, as we can see by this thread we lose so much knowledge, history and above all, great stories for every year that p***es, so gathering and recording the personal history of these items and keeping that history attached as best as possible, is very important to us. We will update here whenever we have some news!
Hey there - Long shot since this thread seems to have been inactive for years but you never know. My other half (Sam) and I just recently moved up to Oregon. He's originally from here - more specifically born in Klamath Falls. While he's native to the state I'm a born and raised Nevadan so we've been doing a bit of running amuck in Oregon this summer so I can explore my new home. Just last weekend we were in Klamath Falls with some family at a pretty fun little car show and drag race festival and had the pleasure of meeting several people who had extensive histories with his grandfather. While we're hangin' out near all these really clean restored cl***ic cars a gentleman named Dave started telling Sam and me about how he and Sam's grandfather used to run wild all over Oregon with their friends and their crew: Satan's Chauffeurs. To make things a little more crazy, Sam's grandfather's name is Gary and Dave had asked us if we had found the SC Jacket in Gary's things after he p***ed. The story from last weekend in Klamath really stuck with me so I decided to see if just maybe I could find some literature as well and just maybe some amazing story back to the family. This absolutely could just be absurdly coincidental but I'm hard pressed to believe in a mere coincidence - life doesn't tend to work that way usually! Haha. Good day to all! I am responding to this enquirer, Gary "Sam" Sample was my Dad. I saw he and all the car club members often. They had this 32 that they built and raced on the weekends. Kit Carson way in KF (hwy 97n) was the track or Medford or Redding. Sam used to run around in an Orange 57 Chevy, He worked at Safeway until we relocated to Seaside Oregon. Sam worked for Safeway for 42 years and retired to Newport Oregon in I believe it was 2008. He also started his own Restoration shop in Aloha Oregon. He built that I know of, 23 Roadster, 32 Coupe, 32 Sedan, 39 Sedan, 23 Tall T, 66 Riviera & 47 Ford PU, And worked on everyone cars. He was just that kinda guy if he could help he would. I learned a lot form the Man. I am reaching out to let whom ever has the jacket. I would like to talk with you as I have also the B&W 5x4 picture of all the guys that were part of this club.
