Ive been making some progress on the Biscayne I got off of hotrod roadster this winter, he is one of the Road Burners in Omaha, thus the name. Im thinkin about switchen the Americans out for a set of ww and chrome reverses. The color turned out great its a 78 Ford pickup color and its a little unique but looks old......... interiors about done and Ive been driven the sh** out of it, its great to have a heater...haha.....Whatta ya think......RP
I'd leave the Americans on it but that's just me. Chrome reverse & WWW would look just as good. Great color, I remember that color from when it was new.
When I get home from work, I'll post a pic Knuckle photoshopped for me of that car with WWW and chrome smoothies. I meant to send you a pic when you bought it. It's lookin real good man. I dig the color. Mootz
Hey thanks for the replys, I like the Americans too, but the ww woulld change the period of car. If ya aget a chance Mootz post that pic...heres a few more pics...........RP
Sorry man, **** came up and I just got home, here's a pic... This pic got my blood boilin for this car, I had the phone in my hand. Mootz
Thanks Mootz, gives me some ideas.......I wasnt sure about the stripes on the dash after I done them, just about wiped them off.......Thanks RP
the five spokes look good but if you go chrome reverse id at least look at a photoshoped pic of it with thin whites. i think the thin whites and chrome reverse would fit the period look better then fat whites. alot of the time newer cars with fat whites look good but kinda look like there trying to hard. one vote for thin whites and chrome reverse ....awesome car by the way
ITS FUNNY YOU HAD HIM DO THAT WITH THE WIDE WHITES. HOT-ROD-ROADSTER AND MY DAD TRADED CARS AND WHEN MY DAD HAD THE 63 HE HAD WWW ON IT FIRST AND IT LOOKED JUST LIKE YOUR PICTURE. I LIKED IT WITH WW'S. HE DIDN'T, BUT LUCKY FOR ME I ENDED UP WITH THE NEW WW'S ON MY 50 FORD THAT KILLER NOW OWNS. LOOKS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!1
I'm a ****er for the wide whites. Some say they shouldn't be on a sixties car but I still like 'em. They really add some character if you ask me. I think wide whites would even look good on the torque thrusts, give 'em sort of a supremes feel as opposed to the street rod feel. Then again I'm babbling. Mootz
that car needs Radirs and red line tires... Would look rad with that stance... I wish I would have bought that car...
That looks just plain wrong It ain't broke, don't try to fix it. It needs the Americans to stay on it.
RP, great job !!! I knew that car went to the right person. As for the wheels and tires if I'd a kept it, it would have chrome reverse ww's and spider caps. I like Ryans idea of Radirs but I would put the thin white walls on those. Doesn't matter looks kick-*** just as it is. Were leaving for Austin tomorrow. You IN ? Gary
I'll be stoned for saying this but I like the car a lot better with the polished Americans on it. I've seen that car locally with several different wheel/tire combinations but the curved spoke Americans do it for me. By about 65-66, everybody was junking their wide whites and painted/chrome wheels and the guys with money were buying 5 spoke wheels from Cragar, American Racing, Fenton etc etc...
Dark centered five-spokes on the front, painted steelies out back with cheater slicks.Biscuits are supposed to be race cars.( you do have a 425HP 409 with a 4 speed don't you? ) Doc
Hey guys thanks for the positive response, I like the widewhites but I kinda with Rocky on this one, the only thing I wish I would have done different was used the sandcast Americans instead of the polished. I have several sets of the early E-Ts but only had 2 that would work and nothing with the right backspacing for the rear. Thanks again...............RP Ill post some more pics when I get the rest of the interior in.....
