My favorite Christmas movie...'Wonderful Life'... Did you know that the snow scenes of Bedford Falls were all filmed in the Hollywood (Culver City) studios with fake snow???
Just learned that this morning. Director Frank Capra was such a perfectionist that he hand picked thru vehicles selected by the props dep't. "No, not this one or that one, go get me some more..."

 

Yeah Mike,I remember reading something about the fake snow in Culver City. HRP.

A Christmas Story~ "you'll shoot your eye out Kid!"

We just watched "A Christmas Story" last night. I always comment on the model A bodies in the vacant lot during the fight scene. There's a 30-31 Tudor and a 28-29 Coupester all derelict and rusty, and the movie is supposed to be set in 1940ish.

 

"Some men are Baptists, others Catholics. My father was an Oldsmobile man"

 

Oh, I'm dreaming of a white woodie ...(that's what she said)

 

4 door Lincoln 'verts are HAMB friendly, right?

That movie was so much like my real life that sometimes, it's hard to watch. All the same, I love it dearly.

I had my '42 Fargo in Christmas Story II though only a snidgen showed up after editing. The movie line is that Ralphie gets a '40ish Merc convert. Filmed in the Vancouver area.
