Introduction and update – Hey guys my name is Gus Stewart and I am the marketing guy for Jamco. I have been working with them on and off since 1995. I recently reached out to Ryan to ask if I could give the H.A.M.B. an update on Jamco and he said “no problem”…. So here goes: Earlier this year we updated the name from Jamco Suspension to Jamco Parts – for two reasons, the first is the purchase of the company by Tony Genty, the former chief operating officer of Original Parts Group and the son of Jamco’s founders – Jim and Mary Ann Genty. The second is that Jamco is expanding its product offerings to include a complete line of restoration, aftermarket and performance parts for Ford, GM and Chrysler automobiles built between 1949-1972. New product lines will be added steadily throughout the coming months, including body and sheet metal, exterior chrome and trim, interior trim, lighting, weather stripping and more…

We moved to a new location in Cypress California and are dedicated to serving our customers. In addition, we have signed up to the Alliance program to offer members a discount on their purchases. We welcome your feedback and appreciate your continued support.

Still took you guys months to get my shoebox front suspension done. Even after you guys verified it would be no later than 2-3 weeks over the phone. Was not happy with my experience and that was only a couple months ago. Ordered in beginning of August and got it late October.

Welcome from down under. I've never personally used the Alliance program, distance has disadvantages. You may not be aware that many US suspension parts won't p*** or meet Ozzie engineering standards and need to be engineer certified before they can be used down here. I know of fabricated tubular A-arm set that had to be ground and rewelded to get sufficient penetration to p*** tech (X-ray) due to a quality control issue.

Jamco had a very good reputation that was utterly destroyed. You will have to earn our respect

I wish you luck on regaining your reputation, but I personally, have had to deal with your company more times than I cared to, and no longer allow my customers to bring me your parts to install. Maybe that will change over time and from others using your products with success, but for now, no way, no how.

Jimmy's post above mine is EXACTLY the reasons I tell all my customers to buy from anyone else. I have received parts of yours that were good right out of the box, but I have also received parts that had to be completely redone, just no consistency.

However, that wasn't the biggest issue. TIME. Lot's of guys have certain dates/shows they want to get cars done by, specially when they are paying others to build it. If you promise your parts in 2-3 weeks and then it takes 2-3 MONTHS, they seem to think I should make up that delay because you couldn't deliver as you said, when they could have bought parts from a mul***ude of companies.

The fact that he RECENTLY had to deal with the same issues many of us have dealt with, and since you moved and took over, tells me it's the same PR bs being spewed out, as it has for years. Some guys talk about how they received everything on time and working, and that's great, but when I order parts I don't have time to play Russian roulette.

    With good reason.

Hopefully the new folks will turn the company around and get it right again. Even if they do it will take a while to undo the bad rep the company has.

I am also hoping Jamco can get itself together and move forward. Any kind of HAMB search will show you years of customer neglect, non-communication and failure to deliver parts, timely or otherwise, even after being paid in full. Not much of a track record. I would have changed your name, started over, and built a positive reputation for a new company.

Ever hear the old adage,"when you do right no one remembers but when you do wrong no one forgets."

The company is going to have to do more than change the name of the business and move to a new location.

Customer Service has been lacking for a long time! HRP

Hey Gus, How are you? Long time no see. Say HI to Tony for me too.
HAMB Guys, I've known Gus for probably close to 30 years now, when he first started in this industry. He's a stand up guy who will do his best with this. I've also known Tony for about 15 years now (sold him a Chopper, but that's another story) and he has had great success with his previous positions in the industry.
They have a tough road ahead, I wish them the best with this and hope you cans can give them slack on turning around the transgressions of the last regime over there.

x2 - there have been plenty of complaints about the company - good step by updating people here on the parts, etc - but, good PR is more important

Never done business with this company but.........
to me he's sticking his neck out to make his comments on here. Can be a pretty tough forum.
Pretty sure he knows what he's up against and hope he can turn things around.

Not everyone wants any part of this industry and they seem to be going away vs. more coming on board.

I hope you turn things around. Best of luck. At least you're not with the Hoffman Group.

So your expanding your parts line to include "restoration " parts... The market seems so flooded with this type of
parts business.. I'm curious to what other nitch you can fill with all the groups that offer "restoration" parts... when JAMCO had good rep it was a recommend supplier to hit up for suspension mods.. But I too ran into ETA's that came and went .. and unanswered phone calls & emails... YOU have a lot of work ahead to bring back a loyal customer base.. I wish you the best....

Jimmy, sorry to hear that we did not give you an accurate ETA. It generally takes us 2-3 weeks to build our Ultra cruise kits, however we ran into a supply problem with caliper brackets. We have been told that they are on nationwide backorder.

We rolled out the name change mid July - As far as the announcement we wanted to discuss it with Ryan before we addressed the board.

So I'm sure, the very second you found out they were on backorder and you couldn't fullfil your order to him, you called him/emailed him and offered a refund, a real solution, or an honest timeframe, correct????

OR, and I know this sounds hard to believe, you ignored him, his contact, and just shipped them out whenever you finished it all up? Sounds to me like the same ole song and dance with a new location.

Anyone that has ever had issues with this company has heard this before, ssdd.
