Howdy, working on a hurst ram rod shifter on a Muncie m 20. I am having trouble finding the correct Levers and steel bushings. I bought a pit pack but they weren't the right size.
    Bushing's
    1/2 outside .496
    Inside .38
Also, Does anyone have the correct lever #'s? I cannot find a specific #number for the levers. Seems like I can find #'s to all hurst levers except ram rod. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Have you tried the Hurst online parts website? My regular computer is down, I can't post links right now.

Yes I have. I haven't found anything that says " ram rod levers are number ...." but I'm a rookie as well and maybe I am missing something. Are all levers universal? Meaning the vertical tangs that connect the rod to the tranny.? For 1/2 gear and 3/4 gear...?

It won't say it that way, first order of business would be to find a part number for the ram rod for a Muncie. I can probably help with that once I get my regular computer back up, but right now I am using my daughters ipad, I don't have good skills with this thing.

Great thanks. I called hurst and the guy I talked to said he didn't know any numbers for that shifter. So thanks for your help!

Well, I could have helped you after the weekend when I got my computer back up, but it sounds like you have all the answers, so I won't bother you again. Have a nice Christmas.

I do don't have the answers. The only thing I have found is the bushings. I still haven't found the correct levers. Any help would be great appreciated. Thank you falcongeorge!

Sorry, maybe I did, I thought he was being sarcastic. OP, phoning Hurst isn't going to help really, they probably still have the stuff, but the company has changed hands since they made the Ram Rod, the current employees won't know anything about it. I have my computer guy looking at my computer on Sunday, pretty sure I can sort this out for you once my regular computer is up.

Ram Rod instructions from my NOS unit. BTW George is usually a very cheerful guy. JPEG_20161209_173945_1936700419 (1).jpg JPEG_20161209_174015_167876708.jpg Difficult to imagine his little lady would give him a hard time.:D

Now THATS sarcasm!^^:D there's your arm numbers right there. Try a search in the Hurst online parts section.
Fwiw, my wife is a 5 ft even Vietnamese businesswoman, she could take the steam out of Atilla the Hunn without even stopping to catch her breath.

The phrase "tech support" is becoming an oxymoron lately. Don't feel too bad about your Chevy pu, my driver is an s-10 with a loud and rowdy aluminum head 355, 700r4 and draglites. That's about as hated as you can get around here. But I do have a couple pretty "period correct" project cars.

I need to follow up on this, I have big bin of Hurst shifter arms, I know there's some in there for super shifters, but they might be toploader.

With a Detroit locker and 4.56's it would take braver (or more foolish?) man than me! My daughter actually asked if we could take it for a ride yesterday, and my road is hard packed snow and ice about 4" thick right now!
I remember when I wa a young guy, I decided to drive my V8 pinto in weather like this, put it in the ditch on the very first corner and ripped the bottom tank off the rad!:eek::confused: Young and stoopid!

Oh you got the arms? That's what I thought I might have, it's all good. Do you need rods as well? I don't THINK I have those, but I can check.

@falcongeorge. I ordered the arms online and I already had the rods (as of now everything works on the bench). But thank you very much for offering extra parts. I'm still in the planning and learning phases, so don't count me out yet! Thanks again!
