2016-12-14 00.41.20.jpg I'm surprised how difficult it is trying to locate the hub to hub distance for most of the straight axles that came under pre-1970 vehicles. I've been able to get the kingpin spread of many, and while that gets me close it'd be nice to have exact dimensions for comparison.

    I'm interested in the following...
    61-67 Econoline
    64-69 Chevy van
    55-59 Chevy truck

Beyond that it would be great to catalog all of them for future reference by all. Mopar had some fabulous looking pieces, bummed none fit my application. Does anyone have a link my Google searches have missed?

My 59 chevy half ton, with stock front end and drum brakes, measures right around 61" hub to hub.

Nice! That just made it a better contender for my project, it's .75" narrower than I estimated from the kingpin spread so thanks!

my measurement is not exact, it was done with the wheels on....but it should be close.

...and if disc brakes are added, the wms to wms will usually end up wider than the original stock dimensions

Indeed...currently planning on drums, but if I switch to discs the brake people should be able to get me the difference over factory drums.
