How cool is this! Woodburn GAS CLASS season champ!

 

I group of us just had a day with Gordie and his car collection about a month ago. He has a REAL nice setup and we had a great day. Thank for the hospitality Gord.

I liked her sister Eva better. She was a lot nicer and didn't slap cops in the face for pulling her over.

 

The sound has to do with the firing order which is different from 'regular' straight eights like the Buick. There is a long-winded treatise on the subject here - http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/archive/article/april-1979/48/those-chronic-straight-eights. Even now I am not sure just what the firing order of the Delage is. I have heard both Alfa-Romeo and Bugatti racing eights and each has its own sound. I think the Alfa sound is closer to the Delage but it does not rev as high. That video was shot at the local race circuit and I know the guy driving it. I have seen parts of the car when I have visited the shop but did not take enough notice of the crankshaft layout.

 

I loved the sound of that engine! The engine itself is a work of art. The car it's in doesn't do it justice. I thought the crank start was cool and it started so easy.

I've always liked the sound of the imaginary GRX from the Speed Racer cartoon series and I've wondered if it was recorded using a real engine sound.

How about some more REAL gassers kids? these are the real deal young HAMB'ers! REAL GAS CLASS cars from the 60's!
