No, it's not real, but from 10' away you might think so. Neighbor was throwing away a 60" round folding leg table, I watched it for a couple days while my brain was churnin' up ideas. I finally ******ed it and brought it to my Pinstriper/Sign Painter buddy, Bill Beckner. this what I got. soon to be on the wall, admired by all who enter.
I could not find or buy the original sign from Duntovs experiment lab so I made it with help from the computer guys....
I showed this Shell gas station petrol tank cap I painted on the Friday art show, and here's a few more I didn't do. There's a few people who collect these things, and the Shell one is probably from the thirties. The HCS one is a forerunner to Golden Fleece. The last two pics are not done by me.
Another I've just completed. This is an Australian one. The initials are HC C Sleigh, who is the guy who started the Australian petrol company, Golden Fleece. It went from 1916 through untill 1981.
My dad made these for me a few years ago, very precious as he now has Parkinson's disease and has got severe tremors, such a cruel illness for a sign writer.
