Hmm, kinda makes sense, I once had a 34 Reo coupe with some sort of cockeyed automatic in it and it didn't have " Park " . Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

A few early auto's did not have a "Park" position (Powerflite, etc,), and "Park" was nuetral & handbrake.
Hi .....As 302gmc said I believe Ford is still paying for all the people killed in their garages being run over when it slipped out of park into reverse .........
At auctions I've looked in 50's Fords with automatic transmissions and signs were taped to the dash. "Starts in nuetral only". Funny my 19 year old grandson bought a Firebird 6 speed and calls it the "the millennial theft deter device". Kids today have no clue....
