Does anyone know of a larger diameter line and fittings that can be used on air shocks? I am going to run them on the back of my truck to help with load leveling. I have an onboard compressor and plan to use a 5 gallon air tank. I want to run some larger diameter line so I can get it up and down faster. No, I'm not trying to hop the thing. Thanks in advance.
You're going to be limited by the inlet size of the shock. Try a big truck parts place; they stock various sizes of air brake line and the fittings. If they're standard air shocks, your Chevy dealer stocks the fittings and sleeves; they're for Suburbans.
Would bigger lines really even make a difference? my air shocks react almost instanly to airing them up maybe you just have a kink in the line/s now?
No kink in the lines, I haven't even installed them yet. I just know from past experience they tend to be a little slow.
I my days of bulding mini trucks, I used 1/4 inch line. You have to drill a little out of the inside of the fitting on the shock to get the line to go in. Be carefull with the shavings. Then, get a brass nut and a ferrel insert (like a compression fitting) and tighten down. You can get the line at any shop that does airbags, and the fittings can be bought at any hardware store or parts store. JP
