What kind of grease gun was used on this type of ******? Later ******s have a knob on the end that the gun clips onto. I replaced several that could be unscrewed, but they are integral on the spring bushings on my '33 chrysler.
i think old car parts suppliers like Snyder's has an adapter to use a modern grease gun on those http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/individual-grease-fittings http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/grease-gun-adapter
My '29 Dodge brothers has those. The gun is a push type, not very effective. Don't throw them away but replace with real fittings.
That is for an oil gun not a grease gun. Made to be lubricated with heavy oil. There is an oil gun to lubricate them. It pushes against the fitting, it does not lock on. The end of the grease gun is spring loaded and telescopes into itself applying the correct pressure when you push on it.

For the type of grease fitting you depicted (your ***le got attention) I've found it difficult to get lube into the fitting and where it eventually needs to go, with out using an accessory like one of these. If you get the first one you need to get a good high pressure coupler or you get a mess. Good luck, Larry Check out the Plews & Edlemann site
