oh for f#*k sakes nick....that thing is rad! i really liked frankenmerc too.i just saw it at the mooneyes show in LA.
Hey, Glassguy and Tetanus, what is the low point on your cars? What scrapes? On Oldsmobiles, mine at least, it's the tranny pan. Tetanus, do you drive yours much? I'm surprised that I've never seen it. I'm just up the freeway in Lakewood. Chili
If that's the Hudson with the small hole in the door where you push a wire in to open the door, I've seen it, I think at a Road Kings picnic. I think Cosmo has the lowest. I'm pretty sure his Citroen can lay frame and lift the wheels completely off the ground.
the lowest point on mine is the rear shockmounts and u bolts.. thats why i AM gonna bag it ..i got some serious scrub line issuse that i want gone for the summer. when the ghetto bags (airshocks) are pumped up i have about 3" of clearence, wich can be pretty hairy on newengland roads
Everything I own is low. The three in this pic are my Truck ( 5" of clearence under the Rockers ), my Roadster ( about 6" under the Frame, 5" under the Exhaust, and 46" total height ), and my Mallock ( 2" of ground clearence, 23" to the top of the Bodywork ).
RoadDevl13, that car was one of my fav.s I saw it at Paso a few years back and my chevy was not running yet, you made me go home and work on mine till it was running., thanks! he are few pic.s from last year, the rear 1/4's almost hit .
Eddie, Um, with the running boards on the ground, the suspension still has 2-inches of up-travel! I plan on putting a little taller tire on it and still being able to lay it all the way out... And here's how we did it!
That is such a cool little pickup! I dig it, and that's coming from somebody that doesn't like ridiculously low cars.
I'm amazed at how low some of these cars are without bags or juice. Mine isn't even close to as low as some of these cars, and I'm to the point that I have to unbolt my rearend to get my rear wheels off, I'm gonna install some air shocks in the back so that if I have to get the wheels off, I can blow the shocks up to max and jack the frame up to get the wheels off. I've got a complete set of bags with all the shit waiting, I think I wanna do my '64 Olds with them but I've got a lot of other projects that need to be finished first.
Did alot of free work on that car for my friend John that originally built it we finished all the mods and he got rid of it a couple of weeks after we were done ,that still bugs me spent alot of time on that car thinking he was keeping it.
here is mine. i know its not the lowest. but it was about as low as it could get and still be drivable. it had 3 coils cut out of the front springs and all the leafs exept 2 removed in the rear with 4 inch blocks. it only had about an inch and a half of travel in the rear and it hit frame all the time. it looked cool but sucked to drive. i have raised it since this picture. i went to one coil cut out in the front and 2 inch blocks in the rear. it rides a whole lot nicer and the rear end doesn't hit the frame anymore. the second picture is how it looks now.
I don't have pictures (thank God) but I think the lowest is the 54 Chevy septic tank that I posted about, now that's low in more ways than one!
