  6. 002.jpg I just finished my second charcoal sketch. I can't get the detail as good with it. But it does have a mood about it. This is what happen to all our vintage tin. lol

I have to laugh at that. My grandson (10 yrs.) came out in the shop , looked at it and said "That's full size"
Having never seen a dragon myself I guess I just have to go on his word!

Ok boyz n girlz, I promised a special woodgraining project and here it comes. This for my 39 std Tudor, it's a custom glovebox door and will be hand painted inlay. Of what you may ask, so screw it, here's step 1. Got a nice copy of the V8 emblem that was used in various ways. With a light and dark side it has a 3D sorta look, just right for an inlay.
    IMG_20161230_165646462.jpg
Next I centered it up and traced it onto the door with a sharp pencil to ghost the image where it needs to be.

Getting the dark and light values right will make or break it so I took a bit of time laying out from this:
    IMG_20161230_165653344.jpg
    And finally to this.

Each "side" of the logo will have a different grain running vertical, 1 light and 1 dark, the rest of the dash will be grained as you'd expect to see it. This will take some effort and patience so it might be another couple Fri art shows before we have all the grains and top coat. Off to a decent start. Tomorrow I begin the masking and grain effects. Enjoy the ride...

  19. Hey guys and girls of the FAS. I'd just like to thank you all for your great art contributions throughout the year, it's definitely one of my favorite weekly threads on the HAMB. Wishing you all a happy and safe new year and looking forward to seeing more great art in 2017 and hopefully posting a lot more of my own.

I didn't get my art project for the week done, so I'm saving it to kick off the new year!

Just a tease: Desk Top Art Work # 128, an all steel COE with a tilt bed! The bed measures 5" x 10 1/2".
You all have a great New Year, and I'll be seeing you next year! Gene
