I found this picture in an old family photo album. It was my Grandfather's car. I never knew him as he died when I was about 1 1/2 years old but I've been told we were a lot alike, both gearheads.

  2. Looks like an Oakland

  3. 1930 Oakland coupe. First year of the sideway lovers on hood sides. I belive before 1930 they were like small doors. And I also think 1930 was the only year that the grill have those slanted tubes.

  4. And maybe one year only bumpers but I can't remember everything about these old cars.;)

    Just to inform....it's a 1931 Oakland. 1931 Oakland coupe.jpg

  7. Sorry dodger but 31s had one piece bumps and vertical grill tubes. The 30 sedans had alittle different looking hood sides than the coupes. My money is still betting on a 1930 Oakland coupe.

  8. image.jpg Here's a 30 Oakland roadster that I lust over all the time.

  9. 1931 also had a rounded light bar compared to a straight across from light to light. Even the roadster has the same horn in the same spot. :D

  10. Hood sides and grill are shaped like the one 31 dodger says is a 31 and like the roadster paintslinger says is a 30
The museum staged one is different but they are all different models so?

The 1931 Oakland V8 was a unique one, check out the valve layout. Bob

Wow, Thanks guys. My father always told me that my Grandfather had cars that you would have never heard of before. He was also an Indian guy till a friend was killed in an accident on one. Here's another picture of the car.

  14. Hey chris I believe your two pictures, are two different cars. The first pic. Looks like. 3 window coupe and it also has 10 spoke wheels, while the second picture is a 2 door sedan with 12 spoke wheels. Maybe your grandpa had a few different really cool cars.

I was always told he did have quite a few cool cars. The family had a concrete construction business back in the 20's and he obviously had money for toys.
