Help a fellow HAMB'r out. A friend and I went to the Grand National Roadster Show in 2011 and stayed at a Shilo Inn in Pomona (I believe). The cool thing was they had shuttle service over to the Fairground so I didn't need the rental car (that we already booked).
So I'd like to go again this year but doesn't look like there is a Shilo anymore near there.

Can anyone help with a hotel that I could take a taxi to coming from LAX and one that would also have shuttle service to the Fairgrounds?

    Thanks

    Rick

Don't know but You can probably rent a car for what a taxi would cost. Then you can run around to all the shops, there is alot going on.

I've done that show plus the LARS many times and have found that if you do a little shopping there are rental cars at the Ontario airport that won't break the bank especially if you can split the cost. I've always stayed at the Sheraton which is right on the grounds but the freedom of having your own transportation is worth a little extra. Last time I took a taxi from Ontario Airport to the hotel it cost each of us around $45.00.

We are heading that way also with my Pops A roadster. I dont have a clue where we are staying though. I,ve heard that you want to rent a car and hit the shops for sure.

Thanks for the replys fellas. Last time I got a plane fare/hotel/rental car package that was CHEAP, but this time I can't find a great deal even close.
Thanks for that info. Will check into it.

We didn't go last year, but for each of the five years before that we stayed at a Howard Johnson's which was about 5-10 minutes from the fairground.

Stay at Hilltop and fly into Ontario. Look at Google maps as there are other hotels around there in Diamond Bar.

Ontario is a lot closer and less congested. That's where I have flown to in the past.

Stayed at a Best Western Plus in Covina for GNRS and LARS and found it a nice place with lots of restaurants nearby. Convenient and easy against traffic commute on the I10 to the Fairgrounds, Kind of a hotel row in that area.

Don't have any experience with Uber or Lyft but lots of people seem to use the service in place of taxis now days although there are so many cool car places to see in the area, a rental car is the preferred transportation.

Stated there the last 5 years and never had a problem, usually over 75 cars there.
