    PanHeadPete...here ya go man.

"It's got a cop motor, a four hundred and forty-cubic-inch-plant. Cop springs. Cop suspension. Cop tires. It was a model made before catalitic convertors, so it runs on regular gas. What do ya say? Is it the new 'Bluesmobile' or what?"

I copied that word for word from a copy of the final draft of the movie.
Yeah, one of my favs, thats why i have the copy. It is a duplicate of the one they used for the movie, so it has all the lines etc...

  3. I saw AG 23 times in the theater..., got many free passes for driving my red 34 five window highboy and my friend drive my dark blue 55 and into the parking lot!

I really dug the "Blues Brothers" and Watched them film the chase scene where the Nazi's Pinto flies off the "Bridge to Nowhere" in Milwaukee...! [IMG]

I like the name of the stunt crew for the "Blues Brothers"..., "The Hollywood War Babies"!!!!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

  4. I gotta weigh in on this thread with a few Graffiti memories.

    1. Saw American Grafffiti on the second night after it appeared in Chicago. Went to Ford City cinema with my best friend Eddie Fickett. When the opening scene of the photo showing Mel's Drive In and that boss '58 Chevy, all raked and stuff with Ron Howard leaning and Bill Haley singing. Oh man, We knew we were in for a treat.

The theater was packed on this saturday night and when the closing credits rolled with the Beach Boys playing, the theater went nuts and all kinds of people were dancing in the aisles. I took every new girl I dated to that movie as a first date for the next couple of years. [IMG]

We were so excited. Ol'Eddie promptly did a burnout in his '66 GTO leaving the parking lot. I bet that movie single handedly launched thousands of hot rod and street machine projects for years to come. Cruising, which was dead in Chicago, came alive. [IMG]

There was Archer ave., Ogden ave. in Berwyn, Dukes Drive In changed from a street racing hangout to a real cruise spot. In Joliet, we cruised The Silver Fross, did The loop, and off to Jefferson ave., it goes on and on. Hard to believe that 1973 was the good old days.

2.World of Wheels car show in January, 1974, Was able to talk to Wolfman Jack for what seemed like hours on Saturday night. He was at the time the only cast member that toured. He was very cool and very patient.

1983 I buy my very first VCR. It was the next year's JVC model brought out early, $750.00 on sale. [IMG] The first VHS movie I buy is American Graffiti, $75.00. [IMG] It's a good thing times have changed somewhat. Now I bitch about paying $18.00 to $20.00 for DVD. [IMG]

I missed seeing Candy Clark and Bo Hopkins at last years World of Wheels car show. Won't let that happen again.

    3. More American Graffiti was a let down at the time. It seemed they rushed that movie out to capitalize on the first. Something Hollywood does if it's right or not. Upon retrospection, after looking at the movie again, it actually holds up in certain areas. Things surely changed car culture wise on account of the Vietnam War and the proliferation of drugs. But, that's a another story......

    Your Graffiti Cruizn' Buddy,
