Technical Tip # 73!

Spent way to much time trying to get a flat wash, lock washer & 3/8" nut on a hard to get to '36 Ford body mount bolt, just room for couple fingers. Got out my semi powerful magnet and what do you know it held the washers on till I could get the nut started. I know, it didn't happen without pic's! Proof a magnet is stronger than gravity in some cases.................................

 

I have used masking or duct tape.

DukeCity41, On a vertical bolt the tape would of had to be magnetic!

 

Very cool, my son thought of that too when we were putting the bed back in my 50 Chevy. Worked great.

 

I had a bolt going through the firewall. I could put a wrench on one side, or the other, but couldn't reach both at once. I zip tied a wrench to a magnet, stuck the magnet to the firewall, with the box end holding the nut, open end braced against the master cylinder, then crawled under the dash to tighten it up from the inside.
