I need to convert doors from a 1939 Willys four door into doors for a 1939 Willys coupe. Does anyone have a good dimensions or pictures of a conversion?

    Thanks!
I brought home this 39 and have to make some doors. Rest of the car is decent.
Have 6 four door cars to convert to 2 doors after the coupe, will be busy. IMG_3193.JPG

You've had this 1939 how long? I remember it being posted years ago as a build start.

I just picked it up. The owner (REALLY GOOD GUY) had it for many years and finally parted with it. A friend of mine went to look at a Plymouth coupe and the owner mentioned he would sell all his Willys cars. And my friend hooked us up.
Trunk is good, p***enger floors are toast, roof needs a lot of work.
I have lots of doors to make new coupe doors. tail pan is toast, can make one.

I don't think there is many coupes sitting around. Think I will use the proper 39 nose, do have one decent 41 frontend. But its missing the hood. Should sell this truck, but an hoarding Willys.

Can we see more pictures of the Willys Vehicles that you have? A few close up shots would be nice. There are not many steel coupes sitting around and when one is discovered it doesn't last long even if it is very rough.

Here is a few pictures of the coupe. Trunk and trunk floor is in not bad shape. Top of cowl is rough and A pillars. Roof is banged up. Have lots of extra doors to make new doors. Will put in the front part as its in nice shape. IMG_3217.JPG

  12. Nice score. I'd possibly be interested in some tin if you'd consider letting any go. I'm in southeast sask.

Looking at all the willys finds it always amazes me how it seems the headlights and buckets are gone. I'm pretty sure they are willys specific parts so it doesn't make much sense to me that they would have ever been popular pieces to tear off them in our part of the world.

But, I am a car hoarder! lol.
Should sell the truck, the front sheet metal is ready good on it. Have 24 5-6-7 chevy cars I should sell as well. But likely will not.

The coupe looks solid over all and I am looking forward to seeing you build it. What are your plans for the build? Some of the other ones look very solid like the 39 sedan and the pickup looks good too. You have gathered up quite a few. Between those and the Tri 5 chevys you will have enough projects and parts cars to keep you busy for a long time.

Yes, its actually pretty solid. Have to finish a 33 Chevy 5 window that is chopped , channeled and is 10 times more work than this coupe since all the wood was rotten and replaced with steel bracing.

I have a Prostreet blown 69 Camaro, so will be going very mild with the Willys....BUT, may end up g***er.

Need to decide on a color as well. Either Black or Yellow.

I was planning to do that, and ended up getting the coupe.
Once I get the coupe straight and before paint I will be making templates and work on some bucks for conversions. Hobbies Eh!

The coupe came without a frontend. I just have the one shark nose on the 4 dr and it will be going on the coupe.

Randy Ferguson has good buck for a good Willys coupe top. As far as I know he does not build anything. Maybe he will sell it. If you want to sell the coupe let me know. We just converted a sedan into a coupe. With top, doors, trunk and quarters already made by Ferguson and lee Kay it took 400 hours for rough metal work.

Man, I would be really interested in that buck! Message me if he will let it go.
I have the 39 nose and coupe down to bare metal, just starting to cut the doors.

Great collection of Willys you have there!
I don't think he'd sell his bucks outright as he uses them to form replacement Willys parts-ar atleast he did at one time including deck lids, front sheet metal. I found a pic of his full roof buck online. Here's a tutorial of him fabbing a roof replacement panel:

I'd love to see some photos of the conversion as Randy and Lee are THE guys when it comes to Willys. With panel costs + 400 hours of labor, that must have been a costly job. Almost as much as buying a Coupe?

Local car made from a more door. You can see that the rear 'C' pillar and door frame were used when the door was extended however everything else was fabricated in steel and to the uninitiated, a genuine coupe. Note Ozzie bodies were slightly different in side pressings and section of cowl between front door and hood.
