    Hey guys,
I found a flatty for sale near me - it's a 59A, which I guess is better than the 8BA fitment-wise for a model A? It's priced real well but is in really rough shape.

Anyway, I have a noob flathead question - what's the best way of hoisting this? I don't have the luxury to make a sweet lift plate like I've seen some of you guys have done and hoisting it from the manifold makes me a little bit nervous.

Or do you think this engine's a goner? No idea if it's cracked or not...

    Thanks guys!

Just remove a head nut on each cylinder head at opposite corners and use a substantial chain and washers. Sounds like you just want to get off the ground into your truck. Once you put it on an engine stand buy or make a side mount adapter. Do not hang that thing on the cast in place bell housing or you will lose some toes.

Does it turn or is it stuck???

Awesome, thanks! I'll do that. I'd love to get the plate from stumpys, but I don't think it'd get here in time.

Not sure if it turns over or not- waiting on hearing back from the seller. I'm hoping it's viable and not a waste of money - so cal doesn't get very cold or rainy so fingers crossed it's not cracked.
