Sounds like a plan for the near future. How late does it normally last?

I was at In & Out the other night in Lake Havasu and I had to laugh. They're selling posters that project the same scenario but they've got "no loitering" signs from one end of the parking lot to the other.

Generally, we are around the joint until 10-10:30 or so. It was so damned hot that not many showed up tonight, and we all kinda booked out of there early. I just took one p*** down Central after dinner and that was it...

You must be pretty young, then! Central was one of AMERICA'S premier cruising venues from about 1950 until it was shut down in '93 or so. In the late seventies it was called by Car Craft magazine in their "Cruisin' USA" series as a close second to Van Nyes Blvd. in L.A... It was insane!

Ya, tonight was sort of a bust, because of the heat. At 9:30 when I was taking a p*** on the way home, a time and temp board was flashing 107. Next week is supposed to be a bit cooler, as was last week, and we had about thirty cars show last week.

As far as the light rail goes, it IS a pain in the ***, I live here, having moved about a mile south of Burger Rush about thirty years ago to be close in to the scene. I deal with it every day. But, as far as "Cruising" goes, it's not that big a deal. On the north end, just south of Camelback, you can make a u-turn to head south unimpeded, and I usually make my southern turn around at Roosevelt. Pretty simple to get around.

As far as gay pride goes, that's once a year in April, and hardly a deal. Not enough of a reason to not come down here. Hell, half my neighbors celebrate.

A weekly 5 am donut deal isn't a half bad idea! Rainbow donuts on McDowell anybody?

Is this still going on? I'll be in Phoenix this weekend. Anything else I should check out while I'm there?

Nah, unfortunately, Burger Rush where we were basing things called it quits the last night of October. I haven't been able to put anything together since, but I will be back at it again soon.

I didn't see the second half or your question! Yes, you need to know about the So-Cal Phoenix second Saturday swap from about 6am - 10am, at 34th street and McDowell. Saturday is the first day of Barret Jackson, if you are into that, but that means that every living human being in the vitage car world will roaming Phoenix and Scottsdale this weekend, and that Pavillions out in Scottsdale will be huge Saturday night! That's at Pima and Indian Bend road in Scottsdale. If you have time on Sunday, meet the batch of us at Coronado Park at 12th street just north of McDowell, and join our "New Year's Day" cruise, which will take us up to a cool little town called Yarnell. We'll get together at 8 am, and roll out at 9...

That's too bad about Burger Rush. Sounds like a fair bit going on though. Won't get in until afternoon/evening so will miss the swap unfortunately. Pavillions might work and cruise to Yarnell sound like fun though.

    Thanks for the info :)
