Today 1st of may its a national holiday (labour day) in many countrys including Mexico..but not for me!! I get bored on such days and to me was just the perfect day with free time to scarf out more stuff that i know but i dont usually have the time to follow This is one of the cases..another pal o mine ( i got a long list of them,ah) told me about this unusual Pontiac 58 Chieftain convertible just few days ago..he told that was a Bonneville but it was too good to be true!! So,went south of town (Mexico City) to check it out..i did not know about this one..i passed in that area a number of times very closely but i had no idea... Well, the owner sells tacos with his mom,and the car its stored indide the family place ..it was closed but you could see thru the iron fence the car in there...nobody there so i snapped few crappy shots with my cell phone..i did not had my camera with me today! In the glass reflection you could see a 64 Impala coupe parked in the street from the same guy... Ok,mission accomplished and another good car on the target...fun day ,no doubt!!
If he went to Mexico, he might not come back. That's one of the last places I'd risk going to, until they get their house in order
Too bad news tend to magnify bad stuff, I don't think you hear all the good stuff that goes around here. There's places, as everywhere, where you should not go, but most, specially tourist places are very very safe. With that said.. Where is SLED?
Hey guys ,sorry for not posting since long but I'm just too busy and I did move in different business ventures so free time is an issue, can't move around as it used to be All fine and pushin, and of course I always have my eyes open in any kind of interesting deals ..following a lead on a 1913 Harley Davidson currently...no pics, just a rumour for now Yeah,I'm tired to hear also the same old BS on how dangerous is Mexico...I do live in Mexico DF ( city ) since almost 9 years and I never had a single trouble ....I'm a white guy ,don't look like a local and I'm going to sketchy places often to find old stuff but depends on your attitude too,I guess...anyway common sense is the key ,here and anywhere else
Just a teaser ..figgering out how to post pics again Not many 40 Chevy ragtops in Mexico ,as far I know
Hey Sled, glad to see you're back. I always enjoy the cars you find and the stories behind them. I had no idea so much fine old American iron was still in Mexico.
You don't see such Chrysler often anywhere...1024 made ,rumours are that only 25 are still around, this has been bought here on the Hamb and frame off restored ..actually yesterday it has been driven for the first time after the resto ,took couple years but another one saved to enjoy
DROOOOOOLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you're back and on. Hoping your new endevours work out well. I too have been all over the world and find just being a genuine nice guy is the best insurance. Not being stupid is the other policy. Like when we bought Indians and Harleys from Sonny's in Subic back in 1980. We were humble and appreciative, and had cash.
The ol' fella's cars' and place look good even after all this time !! ref post [HASHTAG]#2230[/HASHTAG]
I had almost forgotten about this thread. I'm glad I subscribed to it. Hopefully we'll see something from Sled in the New Year,
Nice to see you're still around Sled. Like the '40 Chevy convert picture....have had mine for a couple months shy of 38 years. Not all that many left in the US either.
So...fordpatina...is sled a pal of yours who stays at your place? Strange content unless you guys are tight since most of your content is stuff for sale.....
