I am thinking of buying a 1930 Ford Pick-Up that a nearby mechanic is selling. He bought it and fixed it up mechanically. The body has had 20170112_133627.jpg older restoration and cleaned-up well. The price is 20Gs.

The numbers match but the two from fenders are "plastic". So my question is, if I buy it, how much trouble and expense would it be for me to replace the fenders with original steel?

Brookville makes new ones in steel, plus the cost of paint. Their site isn't working very well for me to find the price. How much "trouble" it is depends on your skillset and ambition.https://brookvilleroadster.com

I am not mechanical so I will have to pay to have the work done on the fenders. As far as price is concerned, what I have been thinking is that this truck is within 20 miles of my house. I could easily drive it home. Most other examples I see are on the East Coast or somewhere else that is thousands of miles away. So one has to add that cost to any other truck with a lower asking price. As to mechanical condition, the mechanic told me he rebuilt the engine and fixed or updated brakes and electrical. He also showed me a great looking Mustang that some guy had bought for his wife. It looked great but was a mechanical disaster. He was cleaning all that up for the guy. Engine.jpg
