Just installed all the exterior trim. Next weather strips and gaskets. Took it out for a couple mile drive. Checked out OK. Getting closer.
Will be making a list of parts I will be looking for to complete and update the Jetfire.

    Thanks to all!!
More to go! Posi rear and convert to 5 lug. A new set of wheels and tires. New springs and shocks. Total front end rebuild. New rear sway bar. But we can drive and enjoy as we do some of the upgrades.

Just put 110 miles on the car in the last week. Runs great. Had the muffler shop install a Waldron's exhaust system I purchased. Four hours later and a bunch of $$$ but came out great. Still have a few gaskets more and a bunch of other items but the list is getting shorter.

Thanks to all for the reply's. Been a long project. Waiting for my son to come down and take it for a ride. He bought it back and just transferred the title in his name. Its my gift to him. He will be down in a couple of weeks. We will fill the tank with "Turbo Rocket Fluid" and get it on BOOST! I am working on a posi to install this summer We will drive it till fall and then to his garage to do a total front suspension rebuild.

He did buy it back in 2009. He paid $1500 but as you can see it was a mess. Its been a lot of work but I needed a large project. Had a big loss so its been great therapy for me. Drives as I remember it. The front end rebuild will help a lot.

One sweet Oldsmobile, you did a helluva great job on it too! I'd be proud to take a ride in that car for sure! Your son is lucky to be able to keep it in the family. Joe

Quick update. Painted the wheels white. I think it's a big improvement! New wheels and tires are for this winter. Not sure what we may do. Change to 5 lug or order custom wheels. For now drive the wheels off of it.

OK here is the latest update. Just installed a posi rear new shocks and 1/2" lowering springs. The rear is from a 1961 Buick Special and there were a bunch of changes made the Job much harder than needed. A little farmer engineering and its in. Going to get the car to the Hershey AACA car show this Oct.

    Hershey update
Made the first Hershey with the Jetfire. It was a blast!! Had judges stopping all day thanking us for bringing the car. Few hundred people stopped also. Most had never seen one before. The car was a big hit! I will let you know how we made out with the judging. Takes a few weeks but the car is not done. Drove over 600 miles no problem! Had a few people stop that had been following the progress on the AACA website blog I have going.
    Thanks to all
    Ken

It was one of the best!! Both my son and I! Still got more to do and more $$$ but you just keep going. Hope to make it next year. Still have a few good stories of bringing parts cars home.
