What are you guys running for seats? I need a bench seat in my 26 T.. Gotta run two kids with me sometimes.. I have 42" to mess with...Import trucks, 3rd row seats??.. I had a temp. built in seat... Now the wife is gonna drive the car and wants a nice looking seat..I have it tore down now and just need to get somehing that will fit.. Thanks, EVILT

EvilT - i have a 27 and can vouch for a late 80's early 90's caravan. they fit like they were made for the car.. Too bad your in CA because we have a few down our junkie... I will say that even with a bench an adult and two kids is gonna be tight. T's are f'n narrow.

Do you know of any low bucket seats? My T is now channeled about 3 inches and will soon be chopped 4 or 5 inches, so I need all the head room I can get. If I can't find any junckyard seats I'll probaly end up using an aluminum racing seat so I can sit about an inch off the floor. Nice to see some other guys with fenderless T coupes! Thanks!
People talk about the third row seats in the mid-90's ChryCo mini-vans, but what they probably mean is the middle row seat. Third row is a three passenger. Middle row is a two passenger. Where the trip-up comes from is these vans have the floor receptacles set up to take either the two or three pass seat in the middle. Lotta times the two pass seat gets pulled and stored, the rear three pass seat comes forward making a six passenger vehicle with lots of luggage room. Here's a pic of the two pass mid-90's ChryCo seat in my 31 on 32 rails roadster. It measures 42" across the bottom cushion at the widest point. Seat back is about 19" high measured from the top of the bottom cushion. You'll note there is enough room in my A roadster for the armrests to remain if desired. If not, they're easy to pull without tearing up the upholstery. Open the zipper, unbolt, zip. The stock floor brackets are way too high for a roadster or coupe, but the seat belts attach to a strong bracket in the middle and on both sides. It would be reasonably easy to set the outer belts up on a bracket, but probably better to mount them to a reinforced section of the floor. You'll have to build a seat base for them. Mine is 1" square tubing with bolt holes 1" apart which offers a manual selection of seat fore and aft location. Four bolts required to adjust the seat, but at least you're able to change your mind if necessary. If you and your wife are going to share the car and you're tall and she's short, it works well to set the seat up for you and then have the upholstery guy knock out a square cushion backrest upholstered to match about 4" thick. Did that with my 32 and it works well for me & Sweetie. These seats are really comfortable and if you're lucky you may be able to find one with the right color in really good shape upholstery. The one shown has one flaw, but it's more than usable as is for a while....

They fit well in the '32-'34 pickups. I have one in mine and can still use the arm rests. You will basically have to put it as far back as you can get it (i.e. the top of the backrest 1" or less from the back of the cab.) I cut the regular Chrysler brackets off the bottom and made my own. - make sure you take the covers & padding off before welding though
J.C. Whitney has new Jeep seats that are 21" wide and have thin, low backs. I have them in a '28 RPU.
Just tried putting a school bus seat in my 26, it's a perfect fit. My old man just happened to have a school bus lying around, free is good. I'll try to get a pic posted tommorrow.
Anyone in the area need a bus seat I'm sure I could get you one for next to nothing. Great fit and perfect height.
I just picked up a 3rd row seat from a 99 Chrysler Town and County Limited. Seat is about 44 inches wide. If you look around you can find some great deals. The seat I picked up is leather and in great shape. paid $125 for it.
Using a centre seat out of a MAzda MPV van in my 30 coupe. Fits perfect, about 41.5" wide. Back reclines and folds forward. Has centre seat belt mounts built in. Armrest on one side unbolts easily. Mounting base unbolts from bottom of seat frame. Seat has built in adjusters for about 4" fore and aft movement. See attached picture for measurements.
I have seen in some VW AND DUNEBUGGY magazines they offer a plastic bench seat for rear...........larger version of regular drag bucket but as a bench seat........and offer a seat cover for it to...........been considering one for my 34 ford.......they have the measured width but don't remember it offhand..........the seat price was around 40 dollars with around 36 dollars for the seat cover..........
I've been after a friend of mine for months to sell me the seats out of a Fiero he has and he finally gave in last night. $200.00 for the seats and steering column. The seats are 20" wide and very comfortable. He was going to sell me a set of Festiva buckets for $20.00 but when I sat in the Fiero seats there was no question in my mind what I wanted.
I'm running Fiero seats (with the head rest speakers-those are the '84-'85 seats) in my A coupe. You can get complete,pre-made- leather recovering kits from Mr Mike (www.mrmike.com) although I understand the price has gone up. I paid about $450 including pre-punched speaker holes. Comes with a DVD/video,all the tools and pliers,spray adhesive and foam cushion repair pads. Also,for things like the seat hinge cover and seat belt guide,try the Fiero Store online.
I am using the Procar low back seats from Summit. They fit in my '32 roadster great and sit nice. I am mounting them on a 1" square tube but the mounts can be shortened a little. They will be 25" to top of seat. The top of the bottom cushion will be 8 1/2" above floor. They come with sliders and the seat back tilts. They are less than $200 each and are upholstered. Check the web site http://www.procarbyscat.com/ for dimensions etc. After looking at alot of options, I thought these were the best deal (at least for me and I ain't made of money) and I could live with color etc. until I could afford to finish interior and will even have a pattern from orig. cover.
