Here is a photo of Dad's 34 Coupe (hanging up in my friends engine shop in town) after he sold it was redone and Dad\'s 34 Coupe.jpg put back on the street. Don't know who the couple in the bottom are.

The couple in the thumbnail pix at the bottom of the photo of your dad's old '34 may be Jerry McCullough and wife. He is the last guy that I know who owned the car.
Talked to him today and he doesn't remember who he sold the car to or even whether it was a local or from out of town.

Here's one more 54 pic. Took the slicks off, put some Cooper Cobra 275 sixties on it added 300 pounds of ballast in the trunk, put my Son Cody in the seat (always deep in the throttle on burnouts) and went Hard Tire Headsup Racing for a season. Made several final rounds and got the "W" on this nite. Pedalfest every round for the first 60 feet in those compe***ions . Actually got some 1.70s sixtie foot times on hard street tires. 54 win Cody.jpg

Thanks, Dave. Stirs a lot of memories. Gonna check with Mom and see if she has any more pics of the 34 or the 56.

I know I have gotten off subject with some of the pics in this thread, the weather is really shi**y here now and I can't work on my G***er till it clears. Went down memory lane !

Been a minute ! Weather has been awesome for a few days. Got a few things done. Also helping with my Son's G***er build, 1959 Volvo 544 (resembles 48 Ford Sedan). Got the rear down bars in, laid down about a thousand BBs doing panel repair ! More later. quarter patch 4.JPG rear bars.JPG rf fender patch.JPG

Keep picking at it and you will be done before you know it. Did that Anglia kit work out for the Volvo ?

Decided not to go that route. Couldn't use the kit and shipping on the main hoop was more than the hoop. He decided to bend his own. Still getting the ch***is under the car. Almost there.

Let me know when you head north we could use it. A local shop will bend it for him if the time tables don't work out. Thanks again for the offer.

I had the same intentions as you with my stude, but had to sell it. 10246571_754366331262064_1612496890740870875_n.jpg

Hey edweird, thanks. I had earlier copied a pic of your Stude. It was the one done in the best taste of stance and wheel radius. I love that car. Too bad you don't have it now. Great lettering ! Mine was originally two-toned, light blue with white top like yours. I'm still in rust repair mode, doing a few other things along. Did you ever run yours with the straight axle ? Et? Weight?

Here is the 59 Volvo G***er, 2x3 frame, Speedway front axle and brakes,we are building along side my Studebaker. Got it on all fours. Got to lower it a little, skinnier tires on the front, enlarge rear fender openings. yada yada. Taking a little longer to do two. Getting old style Americans for this one. 0201171235.jpg

The Stude is very cool and the Volvo even more so! Quite an undertaking building 2 at the same time. Kudos to you!

Thanks, Hang'emHigh. I really like the Volvo too. I was driving one (still have it) when my Son was Born in 1992. I took him to the G***er race at Greer last year and before I got out of bed the next morning he was cutting this one out of the woods to go with the Studebaker. Thanks to his machining background and welding skills, I am the " hold this person" on this one with a little advice sometimes. We're having a ball !

Isn't racing addictive? It's my version of heroin, that's for sure. Glad to see a great family project, or two, going so well for you!
