Can't you use a LEGAL ***le service?

You join up today and then expect people to help you re***le what could be, as far as anyone here knows, a stolen car? How do we know where you got it?
Think about it...there are people here now with missing cars.

Best of luck if your on the up and up, but I see DMV hoops in your future...

WOW, everyone is hard on FNG's. Well i was once an FNG so i'll give you my 2 cents. Go to http://www.broadway***le.com/ . they will give you the right docs to get a ***le in your state, costs about $150 and they don't do salvaged or stolen vehicles.

  4. No need to fear buyin' your ***le. Just about everybody I know has done it. Hell, I'm buying one Saturday. I built my '31 A RPU from donations, leftovers and s****s from several good friends. It has parts from at least 15 different Model A's in it. No one had a ***le, so I'm buying one from a guy on here. A buddy of mine decided to go the DMV route, just to "be safe", he sent off his #'s and waited, two years and $1000 later he had a shiny new ***le.

Don't let Bill get you down about the HAMB- ALMOST everyone on here is good people.

    Hard on FNG's?
I simply told him he should use a LEGAL ***le service. SO DID YOU.

Your just as hard on him as I was!!!
Maybe the packet of ******** from the DMV is a pain to deal with but its there for a reason.

Ask Rocky how he feels about helping strangers ***le a car they can't prove they own.
Because he just joined, he has no history here that we can use to verify he's on the level.
He wants to "buy" a whole car and change the VIN plates etc when he can do it legal for $150.00 and not have to deal with falsifying records?
But don't you need to supply a rubbing of your VIN to verify your car isn't on a stolen list somewhere?

why do I hear bells going off!?!?

I have no idea if the guy is a con or the nicest guy you'll ever meet...but I lean towards the safe road on this because friends here have been burned.

    Hence the "ALMOST".

Check with your local state representative/ ***emblyman on how to get your application through the NJ DMV. In the long run, legal is the best way to do it.

If you think that was hard on a FNG you haven't been here long. That was down right nice, considering he just got here. :)

alright, i'll pony up. Steve and I are boys and the car he bought was sitting out front of this place for a couple years, i get a text two weeks ago saying " i bought me a 55 pontiac" and i knew right away which car it was. hopefully it'll be up and going sooner than later so we can take it to rock-n-rods.

Wow, that is pretty pricey for a replacement ***le. I had to re***le my truck and my '58 a few months ago after the lockbox I kept my ***les in was stolen during a burglary. I believe it cost me $10 per vehicle. My father has applied for lost ***le on several vehicles and it was never all that expensive.

it's different if the car has already been registered in your name. fortunately here in georgia a ***le is not necessary. in some states its a real problem from what ive read. if a ***le is required to register and tag it dont sink any cash in it till you get the paperwork taken care of

Ya know...theres NOTHING I said in this post (Until the F-U part...but these quotes came before that.) that made me deserve having the following quotes aimed at me.

    From jalopyshots:
"WOW, everyone is hard on FNG's. " (I was the only guy who had made a comment up until that time...and then Jalopyshots told him to do exactly what I told him to do! Well...That makes perfect sense. )

    From vtwinsideways:
"Don't let Bill get you down about the HAMB- ALMOST everyone on here is good people."
As though I'm BAD people because I hear alarm bells going off when a guy wants to change the VIN instead of going the legal route!?!?
    NOBODY here knows him!

And then Vtwin further suggests I'm a So******t! LoL

I dunno.... We seem to have attracted some strange newbies.

In my (So******t?) world I value honesty over "Get the car at any cost."
I still don't see any proof he OWNS it. Not saying he doesn't, but how the hell does anyone here know for sure?
For all we know this could be someones fathers car stolen 3 states over...

To the other HAMBers, sorry about the "FU" post...I should have sent it in a PM...;)

Thats it for me on this post.

Ok newbies...fire away and get your jollies!!!

I am going through about the same thing trying to buy a car the kid says the ***le is in the mail from DMV and expects it in 2 weeks this after all the asking questions haggling and doing my research. half the battle is trying to figure out the proper names for forms and stuff.
