Can anyone tell me what radiator choices I have for a 50 ford. I am running
a 351 C and the junk yard cooler is way past dead. What's a good replacement? What fits? I'd like to hit autozone and find something close that will work and cool my cleveland and not cost a fortune. :D

    Hey Rod,

Here is the deal - I have a 351W in my 49 Coupe. After getting
some crazy quotes redo the original radiator, I started looking
around. I found that a '68-'69 Mustang radiator will fit in to the
existing "U" shaped sheet metal piece on your shoebox. I fabbed up
some L brackets, drilled some new holes, and good to go. With
all of the Mustang parts competition out there, the price was
under $250? I know it was cheaper than buying one for a '49.

Check your dims and try the Paddock for Mustang Parts. You know
    the deal..

    Good luck,

    Dave

i used an aftermarket 3 core radiator for a 55 chevy in my 51 ford, good fit, ya just gotta fab up some brackets.....top hose is centered, the lower hose goes to the right...

  6. I put a 302 in my '50 when I had it, I had a local company Beeko Radiators (sp?) here in the bay area recore my original and relocate the inlet/outlet, it cost me about 200 bucks. the stock tanks are very thick so you can use a 4 row core. I ran it for a while without a t-stat and even in the summer I had a hard time getting temp in it.
