So I'm in the planning stages of dropping a 350/700R4 and open driveshaft rearend in my 1950 Fleetline, I've seen a few but they all vary in regards to how the install was done. I'm try to stay as stock as possible, I bought the in non running condition so I don't the luxury of having driven it to get the feel of steering, brakes etc. Also I did not find a search box hoping to read some existing posts, so here goes, any help is appreciated.

Speedo cable, I assuming I can't use the stock one in the 700R4 any know what works?
I've heard the stock steering works well with a v8 due to it being lighter than the 6 ?
The e brake will need to be reworked, any suggestions on what to replace it with?
Does anyone know if the heater core will work in the stock location?
Does anyone know how the stock brakes work with the increased power (this car is a cruiser not looking to go hi performance)?

Ok I found the search button, I didn't claim to be a genius!

  3. There are probably more sbc's in the Chevys than the original 6's.
Not for me, as you can see by my avatar ...... but there have to be tons of info out there, showing how and what.
