hey everyone, here is my first Hotrod and its still in progress but its my first build so be nice! anyways I built the frame out of 2x3 box tubing .188 thick and z'd in the front 6" and kicked the rear up 10" its got a simple sbc,9" rear,34 front axle,40 ford rear spring, and 49 f1 steering!here are some start pix to present, today I fired it up for the first time and it screamed!I will post more when its done!see ya' at Paso!!
Looks awesome man....I am working on my first one too....yours is definately further along and lookin' sweeeet! Good Luck Mike
Nice project you got there! I sure do like the 5 window model A's. Looks like you had a nice platform to start with. Where did ya find it?
Keep up the good work. You're well on the way. The truck grill looks a little heavy for the front, have you considered chopping some of the depth out of it. Just a thought, I dig the car. Rich
The headers are for a 35 & on fat fendered ford, and I scored em new for 150.00 from some header dudes at a car show here locally.for the seat I snaked the rear seat out of a 68 mustang and narrowed the bottom a little(easier than I thought) and about where i found it!: this old lady wanted me to help do some work on here ranch so I did and she asked what I wanted and I told her about some of her old cars so I showed here wich one and she said "oh that pile of junk!its yours!so with a **** eatin grin I brought it home and thrashed away on it!she still payed me for the work too!(i really love her) I am looking for a 33-34 grille because they are skinny and not many people put em on A's so keep the eyes peeled!!! thanks JG
nice job.....hey, even if it looked bad (in your opinion) you have a running 5-window and I dont. Congrats....now go and have fun
Hey sorry about the grill shell!but I decided to do something different than everyone elses 32 grills!being different is better!
there is a ford lovers swap meet in ***ming Ga.tommorow and a swap meet that some guys from here will be at sunday by road atlanta. the next week end is fun ford at commerce. i will keep you in mind. Nelson
hey...NRFLEMING, any chance you could post a couple pix of your coupe that is in your avatar? How much is the chop? Is it channeled or still on top of the frame? I buildin' one similar in looks. I like how the rear of your sits. here's one of mine in progress:
sweet, i love A models. what do you have planned for power? mine has been chopped 3 1/2. channeled 3 in the rear 7 in the front. had to put a prism on the windshield to see traffic lights. i will post some pics. Nelson
NICE! I did the z-cut frame rail trick to keep it a highboy but still keep the car low (12" rear Z, tipped the front rails up at the cowl). 70 LT1 Vette motor, T400, 9" rear. cutting the roof 3" but may go 3 1/2...32 Desoto dash, smoked gl***, hood top only, over the rails headers, side steering, Subaru regatta red body, black ch***is. hope to be driving it close to done next summer. Your ride is really cool! I figure that at the stop lights, I'll just move along with the rest of the traffic and..if I am the lead car at the light, I'll jes wait til the guy behind me honks his horn at me...then I figure the light is green and off we go!
lookin' good! i've got a first ol'skool project. its a 31 model a sedan. gettin' ready to hit the oad with it. a couple more days
Here are some more recent shots of my coupe. I just finished puttin the wood in(what a *****) and did some fine tuning!
Where did you find that cool Covico two bar white steering wheel. I have been looking for one for years. Awesome.
