Where is the fusible link located for mid 60 s chevy. Looked along the fire wall bundle, so next will be from battery back. Info may save time and trouble. Tried inter net, no help

Do you have a small wire at the batt. (68) or from starter positive post the body.

Ok, its a biscayne. Jumpered the ignition and started it with the old screwdriver trick across the starter, got it back in the garage. havent untaped wires from battery to starter. No power anywhere, so has to be a link in there somewhere

What does the horn relay look like? they were commonly used as a power junction in that era...if it has a big screw terminal on it with a few big red wires, see if there is power there.

I believe the fusible links came in with electronic ignition. I recall the GM cars having this heavy purple wire that would often bite the dust if it was severely overloaded. IIRC it went from the ignition switch "start" down to the "s" terminal on the starter.

Here's a wiring diagram found with a quick web search. There's one between the battery positive and a terminal near the battery. I think it also shows a fuse in a black wire but it's hard to read.

When GM started putting the extra wire on the battery cable, and the cable end failed, many people used the bolt on cable end. I've seen the smaller wire corrode in those connections.

wonder what year that diagram is? It doesn't say. 1966 cars did not have the fusible link.

MY 68 NOVA had the same problem. If IRC the small wire ran a cross the core support. That is where I found the same problem. I know the 68 Nova wiring looked some what like the one ENGINE MAN put up.
