Hot Rods 30 roadster trunk pivot plate question

    Been fitting the trunk lid, converted from rumble seat and happened to see this pic online that shows the body mounted pivot plate attached inside the drip rail area, rather than on the outside of it. Seems it would be a tad thick to go in there between lid and body, but it would keep the gap even without a spacer washer. Is this normal? I don't have anything to compare. (Anyone in Seattle have a good deck lid for sale?)

  2. that's not the way it left the factory in 1930 , but if it works why not

    my `30 coupe has them the other way and guide plates on the bottom to center the decklid

    I like the guide plates at the bottom idea.
