Art & Inspiration ~o~ Friday Art Show 27-01-2017 ~o~

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Cruisin', Jan 26, 2017.

  1. Hey ya all,
Thought I'd get in early seeing I had a socially unacceptable early start this morning...
A couple of pix from last weekend's Hot Rod Festival at Kumeu.
Sit back and enjoy the show....

    Report 'Down Under'..

Yes, ground zero of aussie traditional, the FJ Holden.. Painted Colin's archetypical red sedan this week. Same as my own project, I had to paint it. Photo-collage shows Repco- headed Holden inline installed by RDA member in a sweet vintage midget speedcar. '48 towcar had the sweetest mild mill- almost silent.

A little drumhead for the Rockin' Daddys. Don't ask me why they want to write daddys instead of daddies… I don't know :)

  12. Great F.A.S. everyone. I really like the rug rats washing the 29 roadster. I started this one last night, and just finished it. I didn't know what to sketch. So I thought what would I like, if I could add a new Hot Rod to my collection. This would be it. { 32 Hi-Boy.} It's all pencil. Thanks for all the post. Ron 008.jpg

    Hello,
In 1970, I discovered wheel templates and straight edges. My drawing sketches started having angular shapes and real circles for wheels/rims/wheel arches, and straight lines/corners for windows, etc. I was still in the mode of making a custom Nomad, but built out of a Camaro. I did not like the 70’s Camaros, but a streamlined front end grafted to make a cool, lowered Nomad would certainly be a challenge. This car would be setting the Bonneville record for streamlined stock bodied builds (a new category) with twin turbos on an SBC. Of course, clear lexan wheel covers/skirts add to the streamlining effect. The Kammback design makes the airflow smoother in the rear.

A California rake adding to the 200 mph club perhaps?

Sorry for the extra line coming off of the back of the rear tail light. I guess I could not figure out which angle looked the best for the back of the car.

  29. I'm not sure how artsy these are. But I dug some 32 roadsters, from an old box of models. That I built over 40 years ago. I guess you could call them survivors. lol And I put them back as they were. Ron... 002.jpg 021.jpg
