The little deuce of spades show placard is pretty cool, and that family photo with the looks on all their faces, priceless.

Just went through this thread and have to echo what everyone else has posted. And I'd also say the stars and planets have aligned, right over your garage!

There's a story to be told by the kid on the right. He has the smallest trophy and his expression looks like it:D

Overall it seems like a pretty bold move to cut the top that much (for that time, and this area) and then decide to flame it, with a somewhat primitive style even for the era, and the color choice was striking as well. You're right it must have made an impression.
Thanks, I feel pretty fortunate to be the caretaker of three pretty cool local cars with some history. It's been fun tracking down the history, meeting a lot of nice folks along the way, and sharing some images that have been stored for a long time!

Finally a little progress to report. I got some new shoes on the sedan.
Here's a pic with and without caps.

I still need to set the toe and bleed the brakes, change the exhaust manifold......

I decided to go ahead and pop the caps on. Here's a few more pics.

Now I need a pair of guide headlights.

Finally got to put some miles in the car. Car goes down the road nice, even after straddling a **** and getting a little hide on the underside.

Here's a few pics from the Belgrade Avenue cruise in Mankato.

Here's one of the previous owners of the 32. Ken reminisced a bit

  11. Was sorry to have missed Belgrade, out of town for the day, Eric, your sedan looks great!

  12. your car is looking good...it would have been nice to see it on Belgrade last night , but our group decided to go elsewhere. my vote was Belgrade , but i was outvoted. i think it's the last one of the season?

is the October brewery cruise still on? or are you combining it with that WW2 museum tour?

I'm kind of partial to the three window thread, because it was my brothers. The 40 has a neat history, and how this Sedan ended up finding me, or me finding it, is pretty cool.

    Miss having a roadster.......

Thanks for posting this back up. I really like it with the new wheels and tires. Very fitting and add to the right look. Now if it only had hair pins.......

    This was quite a surprise.

Gene Sonnen just posted these pics of the sedan on Facebook last night.

They were taken in 1970 and show another chapter in the cars history that I haven't seen before.

    Wish I had the 6 deuce set-up!

That's really cool you found a missing link in the evolution. With all the change over the years, it's hard to believe that the horizontal grille survived them all.

I took these pictures at MSRA Back to the 50's, should have been the same year that the 32 was sold to some one in Milwaukee, Wis. I took the pics because the 32 was for sale at the time, the owner was not around when I kept going back to the 32 to see if he was around. Some one else bought the 32.

Thanks for posting the pics. You are correct the Car was owned by Ken Thiele at that time, and he did sell it at Back to the 50's.

I just now saw this thread and read through it. Congrats on ending up with the car! Quite the story and a great car... It is VERY cool how the story and photos came together to tell the story of it's past.

  30. Eric, its amazing to own 3 cars with so much history, but it must be tough to decide which one to take for a drive next. What a spot to be in! Good for you. Bob Eric\'s cars.jpg
