Point me in the right direction. I'm gonna keep the 6 volt system and update the wiring. Harnesses(ssss) or products?
I got a 50 and have to tell ya they are kinda odd when it comes to electric.Mine is all stock,so hard to say unless you are in the same boat. If so you might check out Kanter autoat www.kanter.com. hope this helps. Oljoe
Check out Rhode Island Wiring at www.riwire.com or call 401-789-1955. I only have the Foreign vehicle catalog. I've used several on Healey's and Jag's. It's as good as a factory replacement on them. I know they have a pretty full American line also in Origional replacement. No Hot Rod stuff. The Wizzard
I was lookin around for a few months for my 50 (2301) for a Orig replacement. Everything I came across was $800-$900. I went down to so-cal and got the haywire 7 circut for under $200. It did the job but there are better ones out there. Just keep reasearching. Packardclub.org has a electrical diagram that you can print out. It helped a lot when redoing the wiring. Ryan
The fellaz that owned it prior, put like $10k into it (rechroming, polishing the stainless, motor/tranny rebuild, bodywork, etc...) and had all the parts sorted and ready to go. The somehow had a falling out before they put it all togeather and I snagged this thing for (git ready) $500 smack-a-roos. The only thing I gotta do is track down a dash panel, wire it, and piece it togeather...so if anyone knows someone with a dash fer sale...lemme know. Thanks guys.
I have used the Rhode Island Wiring as piston broke mentioned, expensive but the harnesses we have bought from them (3) have laid in place perfectly every time, I mean perfect to a fault, wonder how they do that?
anyone have ideas how to make a 50 4dr sedan inta a kustom? have taken pics.and cut them & moved them around, made drawings and did the same, and it just seems to be a turd! So far it seems I'll leave the body stock shave the uglies where I can and run it. Pics. of others would be great
Try www.kanter.com tell them what you have are looking for and if they don't have it they can probably point you in the right direction. They have a section in their catalogue that is Packard only. Somewhat pricey though. Good luck.
