John headed for some shows in Germany and other portions of Europe this past Monday where he'll be a featured guest. Before he left he said to thank all who he'd met at SEMA, and, all those here at the H.A.M.B. who took the time to check-out the "Rita" before & after pix in the Interview story.

He'll be starting the show-circuit in Jan. at the GNRS where "Rita" will begin its showings.

    Thanks again !

SPECIAL NOTE FOR ALL HEADING FOR GNRS THIS WEEKEND:
This is the first show of the 2017 circuit for "Rita"...John is excited about it and the car will be able to be seen by many for the first time.

If you haven't heard the Interview with John & George Barris from when the car was first purchased and sent to Oz's shop, this is a chance to do that now. ALSO, more importantly, you'll get to see the original "Before & After" pix of "Rita"that John sent me showing Oz & Bob Devine working on this rare Packard...they are very cool !

Here's the Direct Link to the Interview & "B&A" Photos:

Hope all who get to the GNRS have a fantastic time...wish I could get out there this year myself !

    Chaz...
Thanks. John's vision of the cars he's put together for the last 40 years-or-so has progressed and matured car-by-car. "Rita", like "Sophia" a few years back, has lots of work in it !

John always sweats the "little things" that others sometimes miss...but he's also one of the nicest guys you'll ever come in contact with. If you are ever at a show where he's got a car on display, or, if he's there as a guest, make it a point to meet him...he's great one-on-one with kustom lovers WorldWide !

And that goes for all attending the GNRS this weekend...John would love to meet you...tell him you heard about it on the H.A.M.B., he's well-aware of how strong & loyal Hambers are, 'cause we're all in this together ! http://www.legends.thewwbc.net/gpage62.html

Looking at this rear-angle "before" photo, was John originally going to use '60 Chrysler taillights?

    Chrisbcritter...
No, Chris. Thanks for asking about this. This was done so that the metal filler you see in the "finished" photo below could be added to fill-in for the back-up lights and as a base & support for the frenched-in rear bumper.

The Chevy dash is out of place.

    HERE IS THE LATEST UPDATE;

John called me last night, said he enjoyed meeting many of you that talked to him at the GNRS, and to give you his thanks as well !!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 8th, 2017, John will be on his way to Finland for the "Kustom Kulture" Show in Helsinki, and he wanted to alert all of you Hambers that will be coming to that show to make sure and stop-by, tell him you heard about it on the H.A.M.B., and spend some time "talking kustoms" ! That show is this weekend: Feb. 11th & 12th.

As you may be well aware, John D'Agostino is truly the "Ambassador" for Kustom Kars World Wide. John is a tireless traveler, spending many months on-the-road every year here in the U.S.A., BUT he's also made over 250 Trips Around The World over the last 40 years.

Italy, Scotland, Canada, Japan, Estonia, Iceland, Germany, Australia, Hungary, England, are just a few of the places John has covered in his travels spreading the word of Kustom Kars, month-after-month, year-after-year. Last night, he told me his goal is to have made 300 Trips within the next couple of years...I told him he'd make that for sure, and then he should aim for 400 ! AND HE WILL !!!

NOTE: When he returns home next week, John & "Rita" will head for the Sacramento Autorama, February 17th-19th. Meet-up with him there, see "Rita", and marvel at the craftsmanship of all involved in that beautiful machine.

    My best to all,
