History Has anyone ever put a Ford engine in a Chev?

Just like the title, has anyone ever put a Ford engine in a Chevrolet? If so post up the pictures. I ask this because in 60 years of reading car mags, and going to car shows, I have never seen it.

 

When I'm in Pittsburgh visiting the in-laws I go to an antique tractor junkyard that has a parallel leaf 30s Chevy frame with a ford flathead in it and Ford rear with spring pads clamped to it. 5 lug in back 6 lug up front. Guy said it had a roadster body on it.

 

No pictures, but put a 289 C-4 in a '34 Chevy 5 window coupe in the late 60's.

 

This feels like going the wrong direction to me and I'm a guy who loves flatheads

 

1953 Chevy. 1983 Ford 5.0 and aod.

 

In the sixties Ed Roth put a Ford big block (427?) in his '55 Chevy .

25 years ago or so, a fellow in town swapped a small block Ford into an early Nova. It was easier than finding the front sump pan to put a Chevy in it.

 

In the late 60's, there was a guy in the northwest drag racing a 67 Camero with a flathead in it!

Norwin Palmer ran a C2 Corvette in D altered and gas class with a 351 Cleveland.

 

I had a nonHAMB Vega with a 460 in it.

 

It's been done but kind of like having a family member that's a cross dresser, we don't talk about it.

 

In the early 60's my brother and his buddy put a flathead in there 32 Chev coupe.

 

Heaven forbid ~ that would be blasphemy! HRP

Twice in my life , the one I'll never forget was at Street machine Nat's At the Duquoin fair grounds in early 1990s. Roughly 10,000 cars registered & over 100,000 people in an event & your bound to see some bizarre stuff. A huge flock of guys were gathered around a bright yellow pro street 56 Chevy 2dr post & as I approached I heard a dude walking off shocking his head saying ... it just ain't right..... Lo & behold it had a Blown 460 Ford shoved in there & a tilt nose to show it off. I bet that was that die hard Ford guy's master plan. Man I gotta say that was the shoe on the other foot for me & not the right shoe for that shoebox Chevy! Flux

 

I put a flathead in my dads '62 Impala hardtop.
Put it in the trunk and drove it to a Aberjona Auto Parts due to a busted main web.

 

There was a fellow that ran a clean 56 Corvette at New England Dragway in the 60's and early 70's that was Ford powered. I think it was a 427". It flat out ripped.
The thread "Corvette Hot Rods" displays several pictures of it.
I was a disbeliever the first time I saw it but it stole all the hardware that Sunday.

 

A local hot rod shop here in the Black Hills put a blown sohc in a 55 chevy convert. In fact there was a small picture of it in the new Goodguys Gazzette.

 

Katuna here on the hamb has a flatty in an early chevy.

Edit I see someone beat me to it. Here's a pic anyway.

 

That is a picture I first posted a few years ago. The guy was Clarence Everett from Salem, Oregon. He bought the one year old car as a recovered theft, planted his flathead in it, and raced it !

 

A FORD motor is the best thing that could happen to a Chevy.....

 

I knew I snagged that somewhere around here. He looks like a Clarence even, right out of Central Casting. Betcha he was a real character too..
