That looks really nice. How did you like installing the mustang two set up? I think that might be my next project.
Customs don't get any sweeter than Faye. This ride is classy and very tasteful. Good example of less is more!
I thought I'd post some interior shots since Ryan has given Faye the tremendous honor of being today's cover girl. The interior is the first thing major I did on Faye just a couple of months after dragging her home. She had ripped up mohair, so I picked out the snow leopard velvet as a replacement. My mom sewed everything, and she and I hung the seats and door panels in the garage. Stacey
Stacey, Good job! I know you lost a few "cool points" by installing a small block and mustang II, but I think you did the right thing. What's cool about breaking down or leaving the car in the driveway because it's not up for a 200 mile trip? No, you have the car out on the highway being used as reliable transportation, just as the Good General intended. Good luck with it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet Faye at the Jalopy Showdown. Ed PS- FWIW, my '54 truck has a GM subframe, 350, and a 700R4, all done for the same reasons as you. I like to drive places!
I don't knock ya for nuthin'.....she looks sweet and I bet drives better than ever! Planning a MII front for my '49, too. Who's cross member did you use? It sure sits right...I love it!
Not too bad at all... we took the whole front clip off, stripped the firewall, removed the stock front end, cleaned the framerails down to bare metal, and then painted everything. The new crossmember bolted on to the frame rails and we reinforced it with some welds down the side. Then spring hats were welded to the frame, and we bolted everything else together. Overall, a fairly straight-forward process. Stacey
That is one georgous Chevy. I think it should be used as an example of clean functional carcrafting. If everyone who is starting out in our hobby would study this car and make a goal of duplicating it's clean workmanship and sensible appearance we'd have more nice rides on the road. Congrats Stacy, you done good. Now drive the wheels off it (er, I mean HER) Frank
It wasn't easy for ya- but you stuck with it and got it just the way you wanted it. That's what it's all about. You rock, and you'll be inspiring others for a long time as Faye keeps getting cooler... Nice job Stacy! ~Scotch~
Stacey, i must say Faye looks GREAT! Clean and simple with the perfect stance! NICE job! I'm looking forward to seeing it at the Showdown myself.. Tony.
