I'll second that. Kontinentals sure know how to throw a party. This weekend was the most fun I've had with my clothes on that I can remember. You guys rule. And thanks to the S.A.S.S and Flyrite crews for the bitchin shop parties. What a blast.

Thanks man! I thought about trying to play chase with ya for a split second, but I knew the faux rocket just didn't have what it needed to play the game. Ha Ha Ha My buddy Dave said, "Damn!" by the way.

Absolute madness, I loved every minute of that show. Even my wife who is not into this at all said, "We have to be better prepared for next time." Huh? I have to finish the '62 in time. Would it be okay to register my truck now for next year? ;)

Congress Ave was crazy, the Roundup had the news cameras out, people were friendly. I remember even hearing over the P.A. during the show the participants being asked to cooperate with the APD and not to do anything stupid during the cruise. From what I saw, everyone was being good about that.

I got to meet guys I had known on the HAMB for years for the first time, Ryan, Weesner, Von Franco, and McPhail. I also got to see some guys I have already met too. I never did get to meet up with Denise as I was looking forward to a cookie.

On the way home my wife even spotted a chopped Model A Tudor body by an antique shop, "Oh, look at that. That's cool." There must have been something in the water in Austin... :D

    THANK YOU KONTINENTALS!:)

Love hearing stuff about the converts. Wives, friends, kids, or whoever gets initiated at the Roundup. Especially the kids getting into it.

Also, I have to say that one of my favorite things about this years Roundup is two of the flyers I got in my coupe. The Barons and the Lone Star Lords both have events planned for the fall. I just think that it's totally cool that other clubs are taking the cue to throw some parties. Now I just need a new job by then so I can go to their shows!

    Gotta work, more later.

You ought to like this then, my 6 year old son was chatting with McPhail a bit about art. Nothing earth shaking but he was glad to have met him, he really liked the eyeballs on the monster in the poster. The previous evening at the South Austin Speedshop my son saw a latemodel truck with flames on it and told me matter-of-factly, "I bet I could do better flames than that..."

He has been practicing hard for weeks, not that he could do better right now, but I dig his enthusiasm.:)

Many thanks for the weekend, and all the hard effort that went into pulling it off!

Most important. Thank you for the relationship you guys have built and must have with A.P.D., without them on board Roundup could never be what it is. The cruising, scraping Congress, sitting on the curb with a cooler, etc...

Thank you for bringing one of the best weekends each year to Austin.

  19. Thanks guys, I had a great time.

It was awesome. The sights, the sounds, the people, the hot dog guy, the burnouts, the beer, the sunburn. All those things are just a little different at the Round-up. And thats what makes it special. See ya in '07.

  24. Haha! So you all think you had a good time? I had such a good time, I'm still here!

Heading over to the Continental Club in a few minutes, chill down some Shiners for me.

    Show Kicked A** as usual.

Sucks I had nothing to bring.

The show always motivates me to get busy. You guys will hopefully see the coup down south in the future.

Downside to its debute is, after talking my Buick 430 up, having to bring it out after Brian Bass has lit that Hemi up.
Might as well put an SBC in it now.:D

Hanging out was great as it always is.

Can't beleive the size its grown too.Probably as many or more cars outside the gates as inside on the day of the show.

    Can't wait for the Drags.

That's awesome! Those were Rod Powell flames if you're talking about the dually, so that's a great place for him to set his sights :)

Thanks for a great weekend, Steve and the Kontinentals are gracious hosts and they nailed it just like they do every year.

That was the one. That pizza was awesome, we enjoyed the shop and my son was mesmerized by Mercury Charlie's car which he thought was coolest of the bunch. :)

We were just in Austin Saturday afternoon and evenning. Roundup was, by far, the best automotive event of any kind that I have ever attended. Even my wife, who is only moderately interested in this stuff, said we needed to get a hotel room for next year's event so we can stay for all of the Saturday night stuff.

Everyone was on good behavior. The only people i saw who pissed off the Austin PD were people in musclecars and late model Camaros/Mustangs. :) It was great seeing everyone have fun and act civil enough to get invited back.

Next year I hope the coupe will be reliable enough to make the trip from San Antonio.
