Safety first. All cars must p*** inspection at every track.

  2. That's all well and good, as long as the rule book doesn't distort the original purpose of having traditional race cars. Modern "nostalgia racing" looks nothing like the race cars they are supposed to be representing. That was why my comment about using the rule book to purposely keep the speeds down.
"Safety first!" has a way of making, and taking the fun out of racing at times. Answer me this, would the g***ers represented here p*** No Hot Rods Anymore tech? If so, why couldn't a series of FED dragsters, say on gas with carbs, limited to an 8" tire and 120" WB be able to have the fun these g***er guys are having?
I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but I see you guys having a good time and think it could spread to bring back the drag racing we all grew up with.

If i wasnt dirt broke i may would give him a call, but it would be pointless right now lol

Safety is left up to the officials at the track. The SEG doesnt really have any safety rules. Some of the cars would p*** nhra tech, others probably would not. Its easier to hide a slightly more modern cage design when there is a roof on the car though! We have some FED that do exhibition runs at our races. I think the original plan was to add a FED cl*** but Quain couldnt get a tire that would spin for 500 plus feet like the old ones did on the unprepped tracks of the 60's

Not to hijack either, but it's much easier to hide modern safety tech in a full bodied g***er than it is in a rail. As you stated, the modern ones just don't hit the look. At events like the Meltdown, there are some older ch***is styles out there, but its a "within reason" type deal. Even though it may not be an NHRA event, they're not going to let you rip off insane times in something unsafe, either.

As for the g***ers represented by SEG not being able to p*** tech at NHRA, not all are created equal. But ask Porter if the Night Stalker had any troubles p***ing tech before he was whippin *** at the Cali Hot Rod Reunion.

Made a set of tuned headers for the new engine combination this week. Took a lot of time but i am happy with how they turned out being my first set i have made completely on my own. I know my tig welds dont look the best but its a pain in the *** fitting thin wall tubing then welding it all up.

Been patiently waiting for your car to come together for this season. Headers look good to me. Leave the pretty welds for Tony :D

in car video from first round of elimations yesterday. Ended up making it to the finals with the new found jimmy huff horsepower. Racing is always fun, but making it until the end sure made it a little extra special. After 2 seasons of racing this was my first round win of eliminations.

Unfortunately I had the opportunity to watch from the stands for the first time with the fans. They were crazy for your car. Ran great, wheels up and flying. Fans loved it. Good job. They really like the dry-hops.

Gabe Quick question. Can you remind me what #rear springs you settled on. Your car has a ton more power than mine and is a lot lighter but I'm wondering if my 250# Springs are just going to cause my J to fry tires.
